I don't get the happiness here. Due to overcrowding, a large number of non-violent misdemeanor offenders are let go after serving no more than 10% of their sentence.

In this case, she did that, plus agreed to serve longer under house arrest.

She is indeed receving special treatment.... she is being treated a lot harsher than the majority of people would be having committed similar crimes.

yup, because the sherriff and judge were getting lots of emails and didn't want bad pub. :D they are more sickening than she is. :D

Its the ultimate "Punked".

Ashton: "I pulled some strings, yer gettin outa here!"

Paris: :D:tup:

Ashton: "Sike!" :D

For real though. She got a DUI and violated her probation...twice! I think when I got my DUI I had like 90 days suspended over my head. This is par for the course with this kinda crime.

The sheriff violated the judge's explicit order that she cannot be released from the original sentence with home arrest.

Against my natural instincts, I'm gonna have to side with you on this one. No part of the justice system is emerging with any credit from this fiasco.

No Way, she's considers herself to be above the law here-she desreves nothing but what she has been sentenced. She chose to ignore her probation because she considers herself..above that..she fugged up and it's time to pay the piper-period.

:D The judge didn't get any cut of the $$$$ that got her out, so he says....listen biatchh, you're going back......but mommy help me..... :D

she's weak!

So, does every other person that has violated probation or driven on a suspended license deserve to spend 45 days behind bars?

What if, as has been implied in a couple news stories, that the typical punishment for her types of offenses are generally not jail time, and, when it is, generally only about the amount of time that she has served with no additional monitoring afterwards?

uh, sometimes different punishments are for different walks of people, IMO. The judge saw her for what she is, a spolied rich brat that hadn't learned her lesson. She's learning it now :D

I want to be the guy in every bad prison porno with the bad mustache that gets to go to her cell which of course will be well light and isolated from all the other cells. Unit through the bars will ensue and no one in the whole prison will hear anything ..because it will be over in 5 seconds

It doesn't matter. She's a snotty rich person so the typical response from the masses is to want to see her suffer.

Pretty much what this boils down to.

Do you honestly believe she will learn anything productive from this? She goes in a spoiled rich brat & she'll come out a spoiled rich brat.

From the looks of what just happened, maybe, just maybe. Only time will tell.

Me thinks the judges ego is bigger then Paris's. Stop wasting tax payers money so you can have your 15 minutes of "I demand jail time."

Had this happen to a family member btw (DUI & Driving suspended) and all she got was a fine. Definitly think this is an ugly mark on our justice system.

Somewhere in the back of my head (where there's a lot of empty room and a cool breeze) I keep thinking that ALL of this is just being staged for some kind of ultra reality tv show.

Team Paris:

Savage Beatings

Caveman Nick

Big Country

Paris' Mom

Team The Man:

The rest of you Heartless Huddle Bastages :D

I'm only on Team Paris becasue, from what I have read and heard, it very much seems like this punishment is a vendetta of some sort by the judge or an attempot for him to get his 15 minutes of fame. THe punishment is far more severe than is typical for this type of offense, the judges note about no house arrest or early release is atypical, and the calling her back in after she has been released.

To me this is a judge abusing his authority.

I agree with BC on this one - this is starting to look like a different form of celebrity justice, which is just as wrong.

And yeah, I'd absolutely hit it.

I haven't followed this story closely. However, I would like to point out that many judges are given *discretionary* authority in these matters. *If* that's what's going on here (and I have no idea if it is) then I have no complaint. So long as what's happening is within the spectrum of the judge's proper authority, he isn't abusing it. By definition, discretionary powers will be applied differently to different people.

I have no problem with her getting harsher punishment because she showed a lack of respect to the court and/or didn't take her suspension seriously. But, it's obvious that a lot of this is a PR move and she is getting stiffed (:D) because she is viewed as a spoiled rich brat. That isn't what our justice system is supposed to be about.

On one the other hand, it is kind of funny to see this happen to her.

So, you guys are suggesting that having to stay in her own home is the same punishment that an average person faces when they have to stay in their own home?

interesting question.

beyond that... I want to add that a buddy of mine had to go to rehab for 2-3 months and is now serving a 5 month sentance for 3 DUIs inside of 15 years.

No. I'm suggesting that an average person would receive a fine, probation, or minimal jail time. I'm further suggesting that the punishment is harsher because she is a moranic celebrity and the judge has a vendetta or his name in the papers.

I also believe this to be a huge waste of resources for whatever county is having to deal with this fiasco.

You just took all the fun out of me telling Huddlers to leave her alone. She's only a victim.

I got scooped. :D

are you suggesting a judge/sheriff should consider how posh someone's digs are when imposing sentence?
