IMHO a third World War won't start until there are massive killings of white people. I mean that quite seriously (and it's not to try to be racist, but just to state what I think is a fact).

Countries populated with dark skinned peoples can kill each other off by the tens of thousands, and the rest of the world pretty much just sits back and doesn't get involved. Once deaths start occuring on that scale involving some nation of mostly white people, then the posturing will begin... ultimately resulting in some form of unified global military action (which you might be able to classify as a world war).

What ultimately causes the white people to be killed sparking WWIII in the first place? Probably some kind of class envy... isn't that how they all start?

i could def see water more thank oil.....life vs cheap energy

current world events that could spark it.

china/taiwan.....US may get involved if china invades Not saying it won't happen, but China would be really stoopid to do anything with Taiwan. They are becoming a global powerhouse and have no reason to rock the boat.

mideast.....US gets involved if isreal is attacked, but dont think many others outside the mideast care I can definately see Israel getting into it with Iran (with limited behind the scenes American support) over the building of the Nuke plant(s). Iran doesn't stand a chance. Not sure if other countries outside of those in Lebanon backed by Iran would get involved.

US/venezuela/cuba.....if US for some reason goes into either, dont think anyone gets involved with military. The US has no real strategic reason to get into it with Cuba. I have a feeling that Chavez's days are numbered in Venezuela. The only question is how much support will the US give some "freedom fighters, ie the Contras, to take him out. Only to then replace a socialist dictator with a fascist dictator or something.

europe missile shield.....russia alot of talk, but could do something f'ed up Agreed, we forget about Russia, but they aren't exactly stable.

n korea.....if US does anything, skorea is history NK would fall quickly, but it would be messy as you say in the South

nuke going off in US city....does US just start carpet bombing the islamic nations? You certainly would have a fever across the country to strike back very very aggressively

There will be no WWIII, not in terms of the vast majority of premier nation-states concentrating all of their effort and GDP to war. Too much to lose, not enough to gain. The world's manufacturing and food supplies are too intertwined. Plus, if the going got tough, one of the big boys would just whip out their nukes.

Water will not be a cause for war. There is current technology that allows for desalination of water on a relatively large scale. It's just not as cheap as sucking it out of a river or a Great Lake. Agriculture and industry use far more water than that for drinking. There will not be a water crisis.

Yep, Islam finally overwhelms Israel. Israel sets off a few nukes. The US gets involved. The rest of the world gets involved. Then Charlton Heston exclaims "You did it, you really did it."

We've screwed up this planet enough and people have taken God's word so far out of context so we probably deserve it.

Very (and sadly) accurate. Well OK probably not the Heston part though.

Years ago there was talk of a water pipeline from MN to Texas to supply fresh water from Lake Superior. Canada effectively nixed that idea citing the fact that a minimum lake level had to be maintained. From what I understand from water levels around Duluth, the lake is down almost 18 inches right now. No way Canada gets away with this idea, we can just throw their argument back at them.

yup they did

How many divisions do the radical islamists have?

Why does it matter? There's no way the Arabs could defeat Israel in conventional war even if they all worked together. They tried it in 1967 and Israel smashed them into the ground in less than a week.

Arab Army is an oxymoron. Disciplined Arab Army is a nonsense.

What motivation are you assuming they have to build an army and repeat WW II if that's what you're implying?

I wasn't being serious semiinoles

If I have to give a serious answer I do not believe we will have a wwiii ...if there was to be one it would have to involve super powers beginning with china and I do not see that happening , thankfully

Making far too much money to bother with war. In fact, they are more likely to use the money than weaponry to achieve domination.

Seems like we are so involved with other affairs like N. Korea, Iran, and the war on terror. Has China done much to help on any of those fronts? Maybe just N. Korea?

I don't think there's any "likely" going on. China will own the world without firing a shot within a generation.

That's why I can't help but :D at all the wringing of hands over stuff like Taiwan and human rights abuses; China is already pretty close to being indispensable to the US as a trade partner, and to the Mideast as their biggest customer. In about a decade, they'll pretty much be able to do whatever they want, and when the US/the West/the UN squawk about it, go "So...whaddaya gonna do about it?" :D

Really? I at least see a war coming up between two major countries. If two or three of the right countries get to fighting, WW III will probably break out.

Define "major" countries...the US? Well, the US can go toe-to-toe with about anyone. China? Why? As already established, they are going to own the world soon enough, why go to war over it? The EU? They can't agree that water is wet. Russia? Putin is crazy enough to start some sh*t, but I think cooler heads would prevail - I have a hunch a lot of what he's up to is posturing. India? Well, they don't like Pakistan, but they're pretty isolated otherwise.

That's about it for the major countries - the economics of it prevent the US from turning on China/India; the US and EU would never fight; the EU and Russia would never fight; maybe Russia vs China/the US or China vs India are options, but unlikely.
