Apple needs some new Engineers

Recommended Posts

Wow, this is way out of line, even for Apple. Wonder how many iPhone buyers knew about this

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19627590/wid/11915829?GT1=10150

How is this out of line? Any iPhone buyer who researched it knew the battery wasn't removable months ago. And how does this change how awesome the phone is?

Lame article by msnbc to try to stir up some click-throughs with iPhone talk.

I see plenty of goofiness going around here.

First: Apple doesn't want anyone cracking open their phones and figuring out what is inside. Why? It is going to happen no matter how hard they make it. Investors want to know what parts are being used to buy stock in those companies, tech geeks want to make the phone do more than it already does, etc. Now if Apple realizes this, they are just raping the consumer for a little extra cash. :D

Second: It is probably a pretty good bet that the battery will last a couple/three years under standard "you-and-I" usage. If the unit lasts that long, by the time the battery needs to be replaced, most people are looking to get the new tech-toy and are likely to replace the unit with a newer one. Especially with the upgrade offers that roll around with most cell service companies in this time frame, why spend about $100 when you gat a new phone for about that or a little more? :D

It is s stoopid argument on both side of the issue!

"The cell phone industry is notorious for not being consumer-friendly while Apple has a fairly good reputation, so for Apple to stand on a technicality of a hidden disclosure that's going to cost the user as much as 20 percent of the purchase price I think will prove to be a colossal mistake," Rosenfield said.

Apple likes to be in control but with their repair program they'll come up with a good replacement program.

For those living ouytside their repair area they next day air you shipping boxes, pick them up for free and then send you new or repaired products the same way.

Who else does this?

Plus, how has the non-replaceable battery hurt the hi-end iPod sales? Customers pissed about that?

Right.

iPod and Phone are 2 completely different things....... I find it amazing that Apple wants you to ship your phone to them. But ya know, I find it even more amazing that you people are fine with this archaic little plan.

Carry-on.....

Companies who sell phones to people without jobs who live in thier grandma's basement? :D

If I had to ship my phone off for a battery and pay $80? F that, I'm switch'n. I am amazed you can defend this. I'm not so stupid I would ever pay $500 for a phone I am just gonna eventually drop in the toilet or fall in the lake with, but come on... your mac ovary sucking has gone too far.

Bottom line, all Apple fanboys will pay $100+ for a battery replacement.

Studies show Apple fanboys will carry around thier dead iPhone and hold it to their ear for 8 days before they send it in. When asked why, The most popular response was "Are you kidding me, it's an iPhone."

I'm not buying one, but all the people bashing it sound a little stupid.

Like the battery configuration kept any one of you from buying this phone.

They said the ipod nano screen replacement (cracked and scvratched screens) would be $100 too. When they screw up Apple always takes responsibility and fixes the problems.

The issue seems to be battery replacement after the warranty expires. Most will probably just get the Apple Care Plan(extended warranty).

My crackberry battery is $50

How often should I replace it, every month? every 6 months?

If I buy a new battery for every day of the week will I ever have to charge it again??

Inquiring minds want to know!! :D
