am i limited to a dell battery or are there others (possibly, probably) better than can be used for my model comp?

They're all pretty much the same I think. I just replaced my Dell laptop's battery. Just make sure it's the right one. There is one that lasts longer than the other...

also, something i am finding strange is that in doing research on a particular battery, different sites have different specs on it (ie: different amp and mah values).....

Stay away from ebay unless you know exactly what you need.

 

Regular aftermarket batteries will run $75-100 new. HIgher end after markets can run $200.

 

What is the model number on the battery? And/or and mfg part numbers.

i am looking at the g5266 and c5974. i have held back because of diff info about each battery...

 

ie: when researching the g5266, different sites have diff specs for it.... so not sure which battery is better between the two because i don't know what makes them different from each other.

so..... for the same batteries, each company had different specs for it.... just went for one with better specs.
