In the 90's, I was loving these bands: The Stone Roses The Charlatans UK The Soup Dragons The House of Love Ned's Atomic Dustbin Oasis sort of came after these guys paved the way IMO. When what'shisfudge moved to LA about 10-12 years ago, it turned into a veyr heavily influenced Prince/R&B inspired version of BritPop that is fantastic live if you ever get the chance to see it. For sheer energy on stage and raw excitement, they were very hard to beat. Check out Rude Boy (select the "songs only" option, the movie is crap) for live concert footage. Rob was an absolute bad-ass. One of the things that really impressed me with that band was the way that they used Tellin' Stories to celebrate Rob's life, rather than wallow in sadness over his death.
