darin3 1,695 Posted July 23, 2007 Thanks all. Just got back from getting my Texas driver's license. So I guess I'm finally an official Texan. Man, what an ordeal that whole thing is.... I needed my license, as my Cali ID expired TODAY so I figured out that in order to get your license, you had to prove that your vehicle is registered. Oops. And to get your vehicle registered, you had to get an emissions inspection. And in order to get an inspection, you have to prove that you have Texas-based insurance. Oops again. So with time NOT on my side, I managed to get new insurance, an emissions inspection AND got my truck registered on Friday. And wrapped it all up with my license today. Was hoping they weren't gonna give me a hard time about my license's expiration and the fact I had a brief suspension last year. Nope, all good! Went and had some chili dogs for lunch... Going out to all-you-can-eat Italian tonight with some friends, too. Need to get to bed a bit early, as I have a 6am flight to California tomorrow. Will spend time with family and a few friends on Tuesday, then have a meeting on Wednesday. Wednesday night will be spent at my old watering holes (possibly with a couple Huddlers!). All in all, not a bad birthday.
