H8tank
Do you really need to do anything to treated lumber? Just built a deck with the treated stuff, have seen that stuff stand up for 20+ years without anything painted in it.
Brewer
I would let it dry for a month or so, and then apply a stain. Presure treated may last 20 years without anything done to it, but it will check, crack, warp and look like arse if you don't.

Yep, and splinter like a beyatch, and if that happens, you'll have to sand the fokker and start over again, which is a royal pain in the arse, and real good for the lungs as well. Perchoutofwater
Use redwood. It will hold up better and look better. Regardless of what type of wood you are going to use, you need to put a sealer on it. Never paint a deck, that is a maintenance nightmare. dmarc117
spraying works better if the decks is already down....gets places roller or brush cant reach. plus i read somewhere to use a tinted sealer instead of a clear one.
H8tank
Tinted? For what? This deak is down, and is in shade all day.
H8tank
it is better to let the wood weather for about a year before applying a new finish. http://www.wikihow.com/Seal-and-Stain-Pres...ed-Wood-Decking

Its lasted 12 years now without replaced any planks. I reseal every two years.

H8tank
You should have stared asking questions before you built it Mr. Watson. #1... Redwood sounds expensive, and I don't know where I'd get that around here. #2... This is an afterthought, I like the rugged look, hell the deck itself looks like grizzly adams built it. The Holy Roller
let it dry then hit it with mangoo That may be appropriate in some locals but probably not in Homolahoma.
T_bone65
We just weatherproofed our fence 3 weeks ago and it was put up last summer. They said to wait at least 6 months after it was put up We just used a clear weatherproofer on it and it looks great.

Chief Dick
I would leave the deck and move the trailer.; You can't. The deck is holding up the trailer.
evil_gop_liars
Shouldn't you be making your deck out of pallets, cinder blocks and old milk crates?
max
Sealer... can I spray it on? You can Spray it. I just rebuild my deck. I was going to spray the sealer on but my neighbor said that if you spray it on it will not last as long as putting it on with a cloth pad. I just sealed the deck using the cloth pad and it turned out very well.

I just sealed the deck using the cloth pad and it turned out very well. I bought a sprayer when I first put mine up. If there's the least bit of wind it a terrible experience, the stain is so thin it doesn't take much for it to go back in your face. I used it about 15 minutes then put it back in the box and used the brush. The sprayer been in the cellar for the last 12 or so years.
