Venus
What is your favorite movie from each ? I knew if I did a poll I would leave out movies that people would want to vote for . For me its Goodfellas The 6th Sense Jaws History of the world I I agree with your choices. Although Shamalan's The Village had me baffled until the end, it doesn't compare to The 6th Sense. Got to through in Spaceballs too. Edited July 25, 2007 by Venus

SheikYerbuti
Scorsese - Either Taxi Driver or Casino Shamalan - who cares, everything except 6th Sense is dreck Spielberg - Shindler's List in a WALK Mel Brooks - Blazing Saddles However, the Shiekette and I watched The Producers a few days ago, and the opening night scene is still one of the funniest things ever put on a movie screen. . . Kid Cid
Brooks - Blazing Saddles - He harpooned EVERYONE Spielberg - Schindler's List - This is the only serious work he's ever done. Everything else was schlocky for lack of a better term. Even Ryan. Scorsese - Taxi Driver - Not a wasted shot in this movie. A travesty it didn't win the Oscar Shyamalan - Signs - A real creep fest and you don't even see the alien until almost an hour in. Just amazingly well done. darin3
Mel Brooks - Spaceballs Spielberg - Raiders of the Lost Ark (honorable mention: The Goonies) Scorsese - Goodfellas Shyamalan - edit... actually, I like all of his directed movies (minus his first two, which I've never seen) about the same... I guess Sixth Sense would be tops if I had to pick Edited July 25, 2007 by darin3
godtomsatan
Shamalayan's inclusion on this list is somewhat baffling. Like comparing Jim Brown, Eric Dickerson, Barry Sanders, and Stephen Davis. That said: my favorites: Brooks: Young Frankenstein Spielberg: Minority Report Scorsese: After Hours Edited July 25, 2007 by godtomsatan

TDFFFreak
After watching Shamalan's first two films (The 6th Sense, Unbreakable) he looked like he was headed in the direction of being included with these other great directors... not so much any more. That's said, here's my list: Scorsese: Goodfellas (honorable mention: The Departed) Shamalan: The 6th Sense Spielberg: Raiders of the Lost Ark (Honorable Mention: Schindler's List, Minority Report-- Spielberg's most underrated film by the fans) Mel Brooks: History of the World (Honorable Mention: Spaceballs)

Chavez
Spielberg - Schindler's List - This is the only serious work he's ever done. Everything else was schlocky for lack of a better term. Even Ryan. Um, MUNICH? I really, really like Catch Me If You Can, though. Though Schindler's List is pretty inarguably his best work (and of course, has at least one schlocky moment in Schindler's farewell speech), CMIYC is a breezy, confident, light, but not trivial blast of good fun. Scorcese - again, as great as Goodfellas is, I'd go with Gangs of New York if for no other reason than Daniel Day-Lewis is f*cking FANTASTIC in it, as always. Brooks - Young Frankenstein - Brooks at his pinnacle, and it doesn't quite lose narrative steam the way that Blazing Saddles does. Shymalan is pretty clearly out of his league here, but Signs had me wrapped around its finger up to its preposterous climax. I'll pimp for Robert Altman's Short Cuts once again, to throw a director who can hang with Scorcese and the Beard up into the mix.
