The Irish Doggy
Taking a page from the NE school of injury reports. (Last year they said C Richie Braham's broken leg was a bone bruise) Cincy Enquirerr Willie Anderson in walking boot Right tackle Willie Anderson, who had not been seen for the last week at training camp in Georgetown, Ky., is watching the morning practice. He has a protective walking boot on his right foot and lower leg. Anderson's foot injury is believed to be more serious than initially reported by the Bengals. Team PR director Jack Brennan had no information whether Anderson had undergone surgery. This is a potentially hugh situation for the Bengals. LT Levi Jones hasn't practiced yet this camp with a bad knee that the Bengals claim will be OK. Could both starting tackles, arguably the best tackle tandem in the league, be seriously hurt? The Irish Doggy
Yeah, not looking good really... Anderson streak in jeopardyBy GEOFF HOBSON August 16, 2007 Read Comments (15) | Post a Comment Updated: 12:45 p.m. Anderson Pro Bowl right tackle Willie Anderson surfaced after a week in Atlanta with his right foot in a boot on the sideline and expressed concern that he won't be able to play in the Sept. 10 opener. Anderson said he had a procedure for an ailment that he wouldn't disclose and said "if it doesn't work, it's bad news." He said if there was a game Thursday, his 112 consecutive game streak would be over. Whether it could be a season-long deal, or less than that, or what remains cloudy. Head coach Marvin Lewis also wouldn't be specific and said there is a chance Anderson can start against the Ravens and said the procedure wasn't surgery. Anderson described it as "shock treatment." Anderson, struggling with the injury since late last season, said the true problem wasn't discovered until last week and he's "disheartened" because he feels he could have had surgery after the season and been ready for training camp. But Anderson said it wasn't an indictment against the Bengals training staff and said he has confident it can get him ready. He has been told there is a 60-percent chance the procedure will work. I feel this would affect the Bengal rush and pass attack. 3-time pro-bowler, Willie, is a great all-around blocker. They planned for Steinbach to leave, but they didn't plan on losing two guys. Belushi
Really bad news for Rudi owners. Not so great for Palmer owners either. Guess it depends on whether or not they'll be ready for opening day or not. They had allot of injuries on the O-line last year too and still put up good numbers.
