James Jones...greater potential than these guys?

Jones would appear to have more potential upside than the other two, but who knows at this point just how much PT he'll get, at least early in the season ... if you're not planning on using Crayton or Hackett anytime soon, then Jones may be worth the roster spot, but he could easily end being a no show for quite a while.

James Jones is on the WW in a couple of my leagues..

Do you think he is worth dropping

Patrick Crayton (League 1)

and/or

DJ Hackett (League 2)

to pick up?

An self proclaimed expert and long-time poster and participant on this board has Hackett as his #2 WR. Mostly because Jackson is gone and Branch has never really done all that much. Plus Hackett has good size and speed. I'd hold tight on Hackett fo so. As for Crayton, eh, it's up to you right now he's a #3 but Sherry Glenn is getting up there.

Is Crayton starting for you or is he a bench guy?

08-24-07 Update: If preseason play was the only thing that mattered, Jones would be a top five wideout this year. He has looked awesome the past two weeks and had six catches for 80 yards against the Jaguars in the first half. He also lost a fumble and had other problems running routes so he is not "there" yet. But he will definitely figure into the season and is a spark of excitement that Greg Jennings wishes would go away.

A number 3 with upside and he's a rookie. The last rookie to really have a great year was probably Michael Clayton with Tampa Bay, and now he isn't chicken S&%t. You want upside go for it, but not hackett

Interesting point about JJ and Rodgers vs. Favre.

Lots of buzz around DJ around here, eh?

Well, that's to be expected (Rodgers and JJ, that is) - Jones isn't a starter, he's behind Driver and Jennings. Ergo, when the 2nd (and 3rd) units come in, he's the WR that is out there. I wouldn't expect him to get many passes from Favre. However, if it's to be believed that he caught damn near everything that came near him in camp, he may be working his way into Favre's circle of trust, which can lead to big things.

The buzz around Hackett is understandable - The Walrus likes to throw; Hass is a good QB (when healthy); the missing link in Seattle's offense has been consistency. If Hackett can be consistent and stay healthy, he has enough talent to end up the top target in the passing game - which IMO is good for the 1200 yd/8 td range. That will help any fantasy team's cause, especially considering where Hackett can be drafted.
