JAYBLACK
Should Joe be fired?...If so who should replace him?
whomper
My gut says he wont be fired but local radio is saying the list of replacements includes Larussa, Mattingly and Girardi
max
I heard they were talking about the possibility of larussa with mattingly on the staff waiting to be the manager in a few years. on a side note, why do you type all of your thread title's in ALL CAPS? Ursa Majoris
If I was Torre I think I'd walk anyway. The guy has 12 successive playoff appearances. It's not like he needs the money and how long can you put up with the abysmal management style of that weasel Steinfarter without popping him one? Hopefully the Yanks best players will follow him out the door. A-Rod will be a Cub in 2008.
Hugh 0ne
Steinbrenner's got a hard on for Girardi. He'll be the next Yanks Coach. Torre should take Rivera and Posada and go to Boston, talk about the proverbial kick in the nuts.

A friend of mine who's a Yanks fan has this great bit about how if ARod had signed with the Sox that off-season they never would have won the world series. Hell, for ARod money we could get a couple of Johan's!!!! LOL

darin3
I think Girardi is the right/best choice.
chiefjay
Hell, for ARod money we could get a couple of Johan's!!!! LOL Except that the Yanks don't pay all of AROD's current salary. Not sure what the split is though but I'm guessing Johan will get about what the Yanks are paying AROD but obviously not his whole nut that may be being paid by 1 or 2 more teams. Johan struggled a bit at the end of the year. Once the fast ball starts going the change isn't as impressive. That said I'll take him in a heartbeat. AtomicCEO
Boston Loves Francona..He has the perfect demeanor for that team Plus since he took the job, I can't remember standing up and yelling at the TV "OH MY GOD... NO! WHY? WHY? WHYYYYYY?" like I've done to Sox management in the past.

Rangers are still on the hook for about $20 mil of ARod's salary.

Azazello1313
my prediction is either torre stays, or larussa takes the reigns.
detlef
Is it Torre's fault that the Yanks somehow spent ungodly amounts of money on that team without assembling a decent starting rotation? I have a hard time believing there's anyone out there who would have gotten more out of that team.
rbmcdonald
larussa would be a very bad choice, he does not have the temperment for NY. The fact that Torre has lasted as long as he has, is proof that he has the right temperment. George wants something he can never have, and it makes him very angry. Besides that he is an ass. One of these days, I should post the letter I sent him, Rude git never wrote me back.
