#1 Niners Fan
Not well enough to give you that detail info, but I do have one tip for you that messed me up the first time I went to Phoenix... The city is situated where a street called Central Ave. is right in the center of the city...to the east the streets start at 1st Ave and count up and to the west the streets start at 1st St and count up...then they keep counting up and down as you get further from Central Ave. So one of the main freeway exits over by where the D-Backs play reads like thi if you are coming east: 7th Ave 1.5 miles Central Ave 1 miles 7th St .5 miles I may have where they are "St" and "Ave" reversed (it could be "St" to the east and "Ave" to the west). Just know, if it tells you to get off on 56th St, and you see 56th Ave, there are BOTH in the city of Phoenix and keep goign until you hit 56th St....messed me up the first time I drove through there! CaP'N GRuNGe
Niners fan is exactly right. Central Avenue splits the city between east and west. To the west are avenues running N/S and to the east are streets running N/S. I wasn't sure of what sports bar are around Biltmore so I did a quick innernets search and found this one which might be pretty cool: http://www.halfmoonsportsgrill.com/ Hope that helps. Perfect - quick cab ride, back before anyone realizes I flew 5 hours to watch a football game.... That concept on the streets is odd only cause St. Pete has a similar situation in a way except the Ave's all go E/W and the St go N/S, and they get divided at Central Ave (so north of central is 1st Ave N, then 2nd Ave N....) south of central starts 1st ave s... For the streets, it's a little different cause the dividing street is 1st St. only a handful of places is there anything east of 1st, but where there is, that becomes 5th St NE (so north of central, and east of 1st) It took me about a week to really be comfortable with it all, but now find it great to quickly pinpoint where thngs are (my wife, after 4 years, still hasn't fully figured out the St vs Ave thing) I won't have a car (outside of this football related quick excursion, be on the Biltmore the whole time) so not worried about getting lost

I live on Central Ave. It can be confusing your first time. But it is nice and very easy. St's/Ave's are divided by Central. St's=East; Ave's=West. Halfmoon's a nice spot. You're coming at a nice time (the weather's finally cooled off a bit). Just remember the games start at 10 am here. Nothing beats waking up and heading out to watch some football.

cory_n_az
I used to live on Central Ave, right off Indian School across from the park. Know right where you're talking. Was just there a few hrs ago jogging. Live on Central/Camelback and work Central/Osborn. Only negative is the light rail construction (worst part is over with though...at least I hope).
