dfine
5% passing, 10% rushing 5 points TD's Who would you start? I usually like to have a guy going in the Sunday night game, but Brees has been bad. Drew Brees at Seattle Philip Rivers vs Oakland (Rivers has been inconsistent, but has been getting TD's and it is at home!) The last time the Chargers and Oakland met it was the LT show, running for 2 TD's and throwing 1 in a 21-14 game. The first game against Oak he threw for 100 yards and 1 TD So who would you start. Brees will get a lot of yardage but maybe 1 TD, Rivers will not get a lot of yardage but could get 2 TD's.

timnmakayla
I can't believe people are still considering starting Brees. What has Brees shown you this year?
Autodrummer
Rivers at home vs. Oakland. Rivers!!!

Raging Wookiees
I just traded for Brees last week so now I have both Rivers and Brees as well. Rivers, as you mention, has been so inconsistent and I thought Brees would come back from the Bye week and get back to last year's form....well, we know how that worked out. Meanwhile, I left Rivers on my bench and he had a career game. (Still won, though--thank you Nick Folk!) I would probably recommend to someone else that they go with Rivers. I, however, am going to start Brees. This is purely for entertainment purposes. I like having someone in the Sunday night game. I am also playing against the guy who traded Brees to me so I think it would be kind of poetic if Brees kicks some ass. Which he will, of course! kingfish247
Rivers, until Brees shows some signs of life. I'm starting Warner over Brees in one league.

dfine
Yea, thanks for all the advice. I lost because I started Rivers over Brees. But it is my fault. Sometimes even the professional are wrong. Which this year most experts have been wrong. I was told a long time ago to start your best players. Bree was putting up a lot of yards, but no touchdowns. It was a matter of time. I doesn't help when you have three of your best players out on either bye weeks or they were hurt. In my case they were mostly hurt. The next two weeks don't look good for me either. I am 3-3 and going backwards. I lost Jamal Lewis, Roy Williams is on a bye, and Andre Johnson out possibly to week 11. Shaun Alexander now looking like a Grandfather, ready for retirement. I had James Jones get me nothing, and I still lost by a couple of points. That's my luck. Sorry about the whining. I know my wife doesn't want to hear about it. There is always next week.
Raging Wookiees
Yes--some years are like that. Seems like no matter what you do, the FF gods are against you sometimes. Hopefully Brees will continue to play like last night and provide some consistency for you/us for the rest of the season at QB.
kingfish247
... I am 3-3 and going backwards. ... Try being 1-4. Rivers was still a good play and now that Brees is showing some signs of life, you know who to start. It was the right call. When it seems like your season is slipping away you sometimes have to resort to doing what's needed in order to get a W and often times that means giving up (at least for one week) on that player that is grossly underachieving.
