Piranha-z
Need to free up a roster spot and both have had their byes now. Which defense would you keep?? I'm leaning towards NYG because they have been rolling lately. Ravens schedule: Cincinnati Cleveland at San Diego New England Indianapolis at Miami (playoffs) at Seattle (playoffs) Giants schedule: Dallas at Detroit Minnesota at Chicago at Philadelphia Washington (playoffs) at Buffalo (playoffs) Points are as follows: Sack (1) Interception (2) Fumble Recovery (2) Touchdown (6) Safety (2) Block Kick (2) Kickoff and Punt Return Touchdowns (6) Points Allowed 0 points (10) Points Allowed 1-6 points (7) Points Allowed 7-13 points (4) Points Allowed 14-20 points (1) Points Allowed 21-27 points (0) Points Allowed 28-34 points (-1) Points Allowed 35+ points (-4)
solo
Which defense would you keep?? Ravens Giants Points are as follows: Sack (1) Interception (2) Fumble Recovery (2) Points Allowed 14-20 points (1) Using your scoring as listed above is what i found when comparing these two teams' remaining schedules: Both these team defenses are very close in rankings. Points allowed Both are giving up less than 20 point per game this year on average - Ravens - 19.6 pts/gm Giants - 19.9 pts/gm Advantage: Even Sacks The remaining opponents of both teams have given up the following: (Ravens) Remaining oppenents QB's have been sacked 78 times in '07 (Giants) Remaining opponents QB's have been sacked146 times in '07 Advantage: Giants D Interceptions The remaining opponents of both teams have given up the following: (Ravens) Remaining oppenents QB's have been intercepted 53 times in '07 (Giants) Remaining opponents QB's have been intercepted 58times in '07 Advantage: Giants D Fumbles The remaining oppononts of both teams have given up the following: (Ravens) Remaining oppenents have 39 lost fumbles in '07 (Giants) Remaining opponents have 36 lost fumbles in '07 Advantage: Ravens D Therefore, given the extra points gained on interceptions, i would recommend the Giants defense. Obviously, this is not a perfect analysis, as we have no idea if the teams will continue to turn the ball over or protect the same for the remainder of the season. But, it's some soft data to make an educated guess with. Solocam

boltnlava
I would advise giants as their schedule has teams that wouldn't be so wide open on offense. closer games are good for defenses.
Montana is da Man
Without doing as much analysis as Solo, I think the Giants D is better and more primed to perform come playoff time.
