St.Michael
I have Adrian Peterson going tonight but I am losing by about 65 points. If A.P. has a decent game; I will lose the number one waiver wire spot. Would it be unethical of me to bench A.P. just so that I can have first choice on the waivers tomorrow? Shorttynaz
I have Adrian Peterson going tonight but I am losing by about 65 points. I personally wouldn't bench him for any reason, but I suppose it all depends on who you're trying to get.. cre8tiff
If you have to ask if something is unethical, it usually is.
rew70
Some weeks you're the windshield and some you're the bug. everyone of us has run into a buzz saw at some point. I ran into one this week as well. You just have to roll with it and start what you feel will be your best team each week. If I were a player in your league and saw you did not start him (obviously your first draft pick) and then wind up first on the WW the following day, I would be none too happy about it. I'd think your current owners would feel the same. Â And who knows, maybe AP gets stuffed or blows his knee out and then you get the top spot anyway. Start your #1 draft pick and see what happens. TaffKiwi
How sneaky are your fellow owners? Bit late now anyway...
SLGRAF
If you have to ask if something is unethical, it usually is. Â Â This is the correct way to approach it. Even if you personally think a move MIGHT be acceptable, it also matters what the other members of your league would think. In general, the waiver system is designed to help struggling teams get their heads above water. So, for instance, the Brady owner in your league can have first shot at the best QB on waivers, assuming that Brady's injury caused his overall FFL team to fall this weekend. Before doing anything unusual with your lineup, you might want to check with a couple of guys in your league, and see if it would cause any resentment. Because, any advantage this move gives you in the short-term could be more than offset by missed opportunities to trade with people who are annoyed by the fact that you did it. Also, in many leagues, total points is a tie breaker at the end of the season. Is that not the case with your league??
St.Michael
Well, thanks for the input everyone. I decided to start A.P. and take my chances that I will not get the first WW pick. Total points is a tie-breaker so the long term repercussions could have been severe. Funny thing is that unless A.P. has a monster 4th qtr...I might wind up with the #1 spot anyhow. LayLow
We have rules in our league so this type of thing CAN'T happen.
