femmefootball
I like rogers the most, too. I would wait a week and see how Cassel does before starting him - he may be the best choice, but that's a risky thing to expect. If he really steps up and uses his receivers then yes, but NE might just run a lot and barely use him.
lawn saver
Rodgers has a great matchup and I would go with him this week, but dont hate on Cassel. He will be a solid start all year. Too many weapons around him as well as a great O line Please see mine http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=258167 Edited September 11, 2008 by lawn saver
BeeR
Basically very similar situations (replacing great QB, good WRs and O around them, inexperienced etc) and both should go hot n cold during the year so flip a coin. This week I like Rodgers vs DET though.
gman62
Agree with the rest. Play Rodgers on the matchup and keep an eye on Cassel. Personally I think he comes out throwing, however, if NE gets a 10-14 pt lead the running game is a sure bet to preserve a win. But dont expect Belicheck to use Moss Welker Watson (TE) as decoys early for the running game. Cassel is a big boy and all he has to do is get the ball in their vicinity and those receivers will take care of the rest. NE''s strength is in their passing game, they may lean a bit more rushing the ball in certain situations but bank on the pass. They wont take as many risks in the passing game but it will still dominate. JMHO Seattle has so many injuries ar WR to make Hasselbeck more than a bench warmer, you may try to work a trade with him and another player to bolster another position?
