dsanders101
I'm trying to see if we are the only league that has a messed up penalty for waiver wire transactions. In our league we charge $5.00 and then deduct 5 points from the weekly score for each waiver wire transaction. I really hate the 5 point penalty, it really makes it tough to change D or K on a weekly basis. I also have a problem with trying to make my bench better if it's going to cost 5 points. I've been trying to change the rule for 5 years, but only a few other owners want to make the change. They like it because it keeps the FA pool pretty deep (some of them are lazy and don't want to mine the waiver wire unless they need immediate help). What kind of penalies does your leage enforce for picking up a player? Thanks for the feedback!
loaf
5 points for making a move? Insane. I would have left that league long ago.
Whiskey Pimp
5 points for making a move? Insane. I would have left that league long ago. +1. That's a ridiculous rule. We have no penalties other than the amount of fake money we each get for the blind bidding.
Yipcabbage
Many prolly already lost 30+ (on the average) for week 1 when Brady went down. Now your gonna take 5 more jus so I can get Cassel?!?! That's absurd! Imagine if you had Brady/ Burleson and maybe a temp Colston replacement, your gonna be down 15 pts and prolly already in last place if they were in your starting lineup!!! WOW!, not thanks! ChampSampson
Never heard of that rule before. Now pass the bottle of ghey, would ya?
Jrick35
That very well could be the dumbest fantasy football rule I have ever heard of.
Avernus
if someone has a player on IR that is back from injury, then that team loses the points from the lowest scoring player at the same position from the starting lineup... we use IR as a way to stash a player if they are hurt and it allows someone to get a free transaction as well ....but when that player is back, he needs to be either active, reserve or on the waiver wire... We USED to have that if your IR'd player played, you get a zero from his replacement.

Suture
That's a stupid rule. 5 points can be 125 passing yards in some leagues.

kcmast
We charge $1. Non-factor in choosing to make a move. 5 points sounds like it favors lazy players who don't want to pay attention. Smart waiver moves are a huge advantage, so I would never play in a league that subtracts 5 points.
MikesMarauders
I would not even thing of this as a league that has to be one of the dumbest rules I have ever heard of in FF

SheikYerbuti
What is the commish's rationale on this? I'd love to hear him defend this rule.
