CardinalEmpire.com
I've been reading up on Torain and am considering picking him up next week once my TE bye has passed. I think if I can get Addai, Slaton, and Torain on my roster (we only have to start 1 RB), I'll be in good shape for the rest of the year with an outside shot of stowing away the Ryan Grant of 2008 (Torain). In this scenario, I'd still like to upgrade my WR since Housh and Roy Williams are two of the biggest busts of the year and Bowe and Royal are hit-and-miss. If I try to trade away Edge, what kind of WR should I expect to get back? Can I go after an underperforming guy like Moss? Is Santonio Holmes the right level? What/who should I target? RakeFighter
Maybe a guy like Cotchery, Muhammad, Stuckey, Meachem or maybe even Lee Evans if the owner is in the right mind to trade. Edge has outscored all of them in my league, as well as Wayne and Chambers, but I left them off for doubt that anyone would trade either of them for James. Good luck. michaelman
If Edgerrin didn't get two garbage TDS in that garbage Blow out game... he really hasn't scored that much this season. And with Favre playing like he has... you're not gonna get any Jets receivers... except Stuckey who was a rand anyways. Meachem is playing OUTSTANDING with the few looks that he has gotten.. you should be able to get him.. but I don't know if I would b/c we don't know who's gonna get the looks when colston and shockey are back. Beware of Chambers... after owning Rivers last season I have Zero faith in him.
michaelman
Anyways to help you out about who to go for.... I think.... a few buy lows.. except evans.. Holmes?... Lee evans... Torry Holt..
CardinalEmpire.com
bump... Torry Holt is actually on waivers in our league. I don't think he is going to be any more consistent than the guys I already have. The Cotchery owner is the guy I traded with to get Edge (gave up Marvin Harrison)... I don't think he is going to give up Cotchery now to get Edge back, even though he DOES have RB issues (Forte, then a choice of Parker or Lendale White). I have sworn off Lee Evans after owning him a couple of times in the past. Is Holmes really an upgrade over what I currently have?
michaelman
Well T.J. all depends on Palmer.. though I'd never bench T.J. it looks just as bad as Moss's situation Roy Williams... Know anything about Kitna's knee situation? If anything Holmes would add depth to your WRs... but now that I'm looking at your roster.. it doesn't look like you can afford to lose Edge. Actually .. I just saw your league format.. start 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex... very.. unique. ...then every team doesn't really need depth.. Do you see a team that doesn't have two good Rbs? Whats WRS do they have... In a league where a team could potentially just start 1 Rb... I don't think any1 will want to trade for Edge.
CardinalEmpire.com
There are two teams who I see with potential issues at their RB spot. The guy I traded to get Edge in the first place (he has Parker, Forte, and Lendale White) and one with Ronnie Brown, MJD, and Felix Jones. Actually, there are two more... one owner has a combo of Jamal Lewis, Chris Perry, and Correll Buckhalter and one more has Bush/Dunn/SJackson/Duckett. The talent really went to a few owners at the RB spot. I'd definitely have to appeal to someone's injury issues or convince them that Edge's spot as a Top 20 RB is going to improve since he's getting the goal line carries now and not Hightower (one week claim, but it works). Whatever BS works.
michaelman
Glad that you admit that unlike some users out there who claim to be goody goody. I like the Forte guys Rbs.. but maybe he's panicking b/c of parker's injury... his WRs are? Jamal Lewis guy certainly needs help... what are his WRs? Bush Sjackson... maybe not after this week
CardinalEmpire.com
Jamal Lewis owner - Moss, T.O. Steve Smith Forte owner - Roddy White, Cotchery, Harrison ---> for some reason he keeps sitting on Nate Burleson and Tom Brady. He's a noob this year and I don't think he quite gets the format.
