JAPEE
I have an opportunity to pick up either A. Bryant or J. Gage. I am looking for a 3rd wr to compliment my team. Long term, which would you choose?
rew70
Bryant. I think they'll throw more than TEN in the long run.
AFRO
Arguement for Bryant says: although Bucs still have Galloway, and (3rd and Ike) Hilliard, and frequently check-down to RB passes/screens; (TEs Redzone targets too) Bryant is Physical, and when Joey comes back, he will likely play #2 or #3. And unless the Bucs can temper the early oppisoitons scoring, and keeps teams kicking FGs, the Bucs will continue to need to throw, (Gruden loves throwing anyhow) and Bryant is a Big target. which is good for Redzone. Argument for Gage: He is a bigger target then McCarrens, and only Scafe/C.Johnson would regularly steal in on his action. IMO that is very good. What I do not like about him, is unless Fisher sticks with Collins, they may not be so attractive when/if Vince Young comes back.. as we know about VY; he is not very fantasy friendly; to himself, OR to his WR teammates with consistant regularity (cept the TEs seem to make an exception). Collins also is a game Manager, he is not being asked to win a lot of games, they want good Field position, and limited-to-no T/Os..and if they score in the process GREAT...They are winning, but they have not had any sort of offensive explosion that teams need to fear..Collins isnt blowing up fantasy lineups, with those mild numbers; and Vince MAY be back soon, and that will certainly lead me to believe he will get fewer looks. and Titans are a Rush/Smashmouth/Play TOUGH DEF team. Result for me = Bryant his team atleast throws, and he is a target.
