RattlerB
I'm 2-2 and sitting #8 out of 12 teams in one league (yes, I'm one of many who sat Ronnie Brown when he went off on NE). The #1 team (4-0) has offered me McFadden in exchange for Ryan Grant. It's a standard scoring plus PPR league. Grant has been underperforming as we all know. Should I jump on it, counter it or simply decline it? Here are our teams (# of starters in parentheses): ME QB (1) - D. McNabb, M. Schaub WR (2) - R. Moss, V. Jackson, T. Holt, P. Crayton, I. Bruce RB (2) - R. Grant, R. Brown, L. McClain, F. Jackson, M. Moore, M. Bush TE (1) - C. Cooley K (1) - N. Folk DEF (1) - BUF HIM QB (1) - A. Rodgers, J. Delhomme WR (2) - T. Owens, S. Moss, S. Breaston, C. Chambers, J. Porter RB (2) - M. Lynch, T. Hightower, M. Turner, D. McFadden, C. Johnson TE (1) - H. Miller, J. Carlson K (1) - R. Longwell DEF (1) - TEN Edited October 2, 2008 by RattlerB
slimshady31
RattlerB, Answering your post since you did mine (thank you). Since Grant hasn't done anything to-date, I'd say I'd be in favor of getting McFadden. There are two concerns I'd have though: 1) Once Fargas is healthy will steal carries from DMac, 2) if Rodgers isn't 100% or GBP rolls out Matt Flynn, then definitely Grant becomes more of a lean-on factor. Green Bay may ground some of the aerial fireworks and turn to grinding it out on the ground with Grant who could get 20+ touches a game. I'm biased because I'm a Raider fan, but nevertheless when DMac is healthy (watch out for his toe) he can be explosive. Grant has shown me nothing and there are no signs of life yet that I can see that he ever will. If he continues with another 20yd game performance he may be riding the pine soon anyways. One last thing, OAK LOVES TO RUN THE FOOTBALL. Run, and run, and run some more. That's why I like DMac.
Company of Heroes
Man, I don't think I'd do it. His RG's value is so low right now. McFadden has toe issue and a RBBC. Hold out for a better deal or hope RG can get it together vs ATL.
WashingtonD
You can't do this deal... You are simply giving up too much for a nicked up back who'll likely be a third down/change of pace back once Fargas gets back. I agree with Company of Heroes, hold out for a better deal and hope RG get's it together. Best of Luck, WashD
the outlaw
Sounds like a typical "buy low" offer...I drafted RG as my RB1 and have suffered though the first 4 weeks, but I'm not giving up on him, yet...his hammy is (supposedly) back to 100%, so I expect much better results from him, going-forward...I do have Jackson as a handcuff, though...anyway, I say hang onto him...also, turf toe injuries have a tendancy to linger...good luck... RattlerB
Should I counter or just leave it be? It seems to me the guy is fishing for something with his buy-low offer or maybe trying to shore up for bye weeks???
Medal of Honor
Interestingly enough this trade just happened earlier today in my league! I think I value Grant more.
Tboogs
I would wait for R. Grant to blow up this week vs. Atl and then ship him out... SELL HIGH. see my post dogg...
