RGTC
Through some strange course of drafts and waiver wire additions, I have ended up with Brees, Bush, Moore, and Meachem. My other receivers are Moss, Crotchery (bye), and Gonzalez. My other running backs are J. Stewart and McClain. Amusingly, also had Shockey, but dropped him after I traded for T. Sheffler. Here is my question: I am playing against a pretty good team. Do I swing for the fence and try to double up with Brees and crew? New Orleans at home against Minnesota with their weaker pass defense. If Brees puts three touchdowns in the air, I think I am golden. Alternatively, R. Moss hasn't done squat and if I play him, do I sit Meachum or Moore? Finally, do I sit Bush for McClain, especially if McGahee is ruled out? Dilemmas...
Cowboy Killah
Man, the only time I've seen multiple players from on team work out in a long time was last years Patriots. Brees and Co. are not last years Patriots. You could count on Brady Moss and Welker to CONSISTENTLY put up a crap load of points. Moore had 1 break out game, Brees can lay an egg if the wind changes direction and Meachem is unproven in my eyes. Don't get me wrong...they are all great, solid fantasy players, but to put all of your fantasy eggs in one basket? I have to say you would be crazy sir. RGTC
Defending a three year championship run with a quarterback who lost his number one receiver, a receiver who lost the number one quarter back, and Shockey under the knife... A bit of desperation...
Cowboy Killah
I would start McLain over Bush...only because I think you would have to go with Meachem AND Moore over Gonzalez. And both Defenses are good against the run. McLain is probably gonna get more carries than Bush in the advent of the return of Deuce. I've seen the Colts, Cowboys, and Packers work last year as well... Lance More has had to straight 7 reception games, so it's not as if he's only produced one time this year, and Brees isn't nearly as erratic as you say he is. I don't like Meachem much, as he's still playing the no.3 spot.
RGTC
So my logic for Bush works this way. Minn will be great at shutting down Deuce in the middle. Bush will get his passes and runs in the open field and probably be more productive. I don't think Minn will readily allow Deuce to run in the short yard TDs requiring the short pass to Bush or Moore. If McGahee is out, then I definitely play McClain. If McGahee plays, then I lean toward Bush this week. Also, while I agree that doubling up players is generally a bad idea (last year Brady and Moss laid an egg with the Jets in the first fantasy playoff game), I think with respect to the matchup and venue, for this week it might be a good idea and perhaps my only chance to squeak out a win (playing against Romo, Slaton, R.Brown, Gage, Bowe, A. Gates and Bears defense)
RGTC
Perhaps the question should be phrased this way: Who has the greater likelihood this week of catching the bomb for the TD, Moss from Cassell or Meachum from Brees? All I need is one...

Not really saying Brees is erratic. just in comparison to last years "Holy Trinity" of Brady Welker and Moss. I'm not talking about tandems either. Dallas you could only really count on Romo and Owens. Packers you could really only count on Favre and Grant down the stretch. And the Colts? You got me there because Wayne, Manning and Addai were all reliable. But NONE of them were giving out points like the Trinity. So I say again...unless it's Brady Welker and Moss from 08, I wouldn't put all my fantasy eggs in one basket. I like the chances for your QB and the 2 receivers this week though.
