Team Harville
I am in Dynasty league and can trade Clinton Portis and Jamal Lewis for Steve Slaton. I already have M. Barber, M. Forte and is a PPR scoring system. Looking for opinions on trade from other experienced players. Thanks a bunch.
WashingtonD
I like Clinton Portis to remain a stud for the next 2 years I like Jamal Lewis to eat his weight in ribeyes pretty much for the rest of his life...he's also good to fall forward for 3.1 ypc and and 8 TDs Slaton is an interesting kid, he's got a lot of talent, plays much bigger than he is, and is a really good recieving threat out of the backfield, and yes, he's got very fresh legs. If this was a redraft league I'd probably pass, but in a dynasty I think you can make the argument that you are giving up potentially a little bit more this year but you are receiving a player that could be very valuable year over year in the long term. I'd probably roll the dice and go for it, but for me it's as much a belief in the downfall of Jamal Lewis and seeing the trade as Portis for Slaton. Best of Luck, WashD
spider321
Lewis = Old and washed up Portis = 28 yrs old + tons of wear and tear Slaton = Young & lots of receptions Dynasty League PPR? Do it.
sspun13
Don't even hesitate on this trade man. Guys like Slaton who can grab anywhere from 40-70 balls in the air for you are priceless in PPR Leagues. Grab him before the other guy wises up lol Edited May 17, 2009 by sspun13
glackk
Yeah good deal. Maybe Portis is still slightly better than Slaton this year, maybe not. But next year and beyond, Slaton should be good. Jamal is bleh. He's a good bye week fill-in for maybe 2 more years.
The Wolf
Interesting topic..a owner in my dynasty PPR is shopping Slayton and may be interested in Thomas Jones, straight up. The points you've made are very interesting to say the least. Edited May 30, 2009 by The Wolf
aggiebones
I think its a good bet that one of those two guys will outperform Slaton with the other in the same ballpark. Slaton is no guarantee. He plays bigger than he is, thus he'll crack sooner. I don't think he's the long term guy there. Remember this is the old OC from Denver. He will be looking for cheap RBs all along and WILL give them a shot to win it at anytime. I think we all will wonder what happened to Slaton in a couple years. While JLew keeps banging out 3.1 yards and 8TDs in Cleveland or somewhere. Count me among those that would avoid this trade in a dynasty. Though oddly enough he could potentially be the best of the 3 THIS year. But I doubt much past this.
