DMD
State of the Ravens The Ravens head into a tougher schedule this year and maybe without Mason - how can Joe Flacco possibly take the next step up or even remain the same without the #1 WR. Where will the bottle stop spinning? Le'Ron McClain? Willis McaGahee? Ray Rice? Cedric Peerman? Ray Rice is apparently the lead dog according to fantasy fans but he only ran for 454 yards and a 4.2 ypc last year. Would you even bother with drafting a RB from this team? Company of Heroes
I'd certainly take a late flyer on Rice as a RB4 with upside (in a start 2 RB league). With such a RB heavy offense in BAL, the upside is great if the last year of running back carousel was an aberration.
budlitebrad
Not feeling as confident about the run game after Mason's retirement. They're gonna need to sign at least a couple vet WRs. Edited July 17, 2009 by budlitebrad

Thought I read somewhere today that there is some suspicion that the retirement thing is a ploy to resolve some contract issues. Can't find it now, we'll see. irish
Thought I read somewhere today that there is some suspicion that the retirement thing is a ploy to resolve some contract issues. Can't find it now, we'll see. That's been reported all over the place and could very well be true. I'd be glad to take a flyer on Rice as well in that backfield as I think that McGahee's about done, McClain will be a short-yardage guy and Peerman will be used as CoP or on specialty plays. I believe that Rice will be given the most action and should have high upside value especially in PPR leagues. I have Rice ranked 37th at the RB position in PPR (with about 40 receptions), so that makes him a low end #3 and high-end #4 RB in 10-12 teamers.
