You're OK at QB you need more help at WR. Even if that is Steve Smith (CAR) not Steve Smith (NYG)

Donutrun Jellies
I don't think you neeeeed to make the deal, but if you wannnnt to make the deal (cuz you love Brees or haven't bought into Rivers), it's not a horrible deal -- but you will need to reinforce WR after it ... in a 12, not sure what you've got on waiver wire (any of the sneaky 3rd year breakout wrs out there?) ... Not much else to trade to boost WR -- dealing lendale for a WR might work, but you'd be perilously thin at RB and I'm guessing there be less RB on the waiver (Ray Rice out there?) ... If you can find a way to stay okay at WR/RB and want Brees, go get him. If it's not a driving passion for you, stay put.
vonromig
No trade. Because I don't buy into the whole Brees hype. Every year a different QB racks up the numbers and is then placed at the top of the QB list in fantasy the following season, and every year that QB falls far short... I think your buddy sees this too and is trying to get "top dollar" for an overvalued player. Von

He isn't dependent on WR play and can throw to just about anyone. That said Rivers is very good too and I don't think he can spare Berrian if when Favre goes to Minn. Not a good move for you.
mrip
No trade. Your lack of WR would plague you all season.

Asskickas
I'd do the deal. Brees posts GREAT #s pretty much every year. (over 4000yds 3 yrs running.) Rivers is the one that did the unusual last year by going almost 1000 yds over his previous best year. Berrian is Berrian. In a 12 teamer there should be some sap that you can pick up and work with. (Miles Austin, Crayton, Engram, Bess, etc.....You don't need 2 Ds and 2 Kickers do you?)
blackhats
I agree with asskickas, dump the extra def and kicker and take a flyer on a couple of WR from the wire - I like Brees to come close to repeating last years numbers and I guarantee there will be some WR's currently on the wire that will put up better numbers than Berrian. vikinglion
Maybe I'm a bit too infatuated with Brees after last year, but I'd take Brees.
