muck
Congress often exempts itself from the bills it passes. Senator Tom Coburn, realizing this, amended the Senate Health Insurance bill requiring that Congress enroll in the same public health insurance fund as the general public. Surprisingly, it passed by one vote, but it's unlikely to remain in the end. The best chance we have of the final bill being practical is to assure that this provision remains. ********************** It passed by one vote but is unlikely to remain in the final bill? Who are these people in DC? They have no idea they work for us, do they? It seems to me that if you still hold on to any ideas of nirvana here on earth due to the good actions of others, this can't help out your beliefs.

I don't get the complaint here... unless the author of the e-mail is in favor of making sure that the public insurance option is such a great plan so as to make everybody want to buy it rather than sticking with their private insurance. Azazello1313
yeah, if they add that provision it will just make it that much more certain they will load up the "public option" with that many more taxpayer subsidies to allow it to favorably "compete" with private insurance. TimC
When this all passes, will Barack Obama sit up in his big chair of lies and give a thumbs up or down if someone lives or dies?
AtomicCEO
EXACTLY!!! ...wait, when was that exactly? Sometime before the invention of money and the discovery of graft.
