Kid Cid
The thing is, it sometimes takes them hours to come to a decision and we get what? 2 minutes of their discussion? I think there are a lot of things that are hashed over and that sometimes one personality will convince another to see things their way. We see none of this. The other thing is that Whether they realize it or not, their history with the contestants also colors their judgement. Jenn was coming apart at the seams under the pressure a couple of weeks ago, that very well could have played into their decision. The other thing is that they have admitted that the producers of the show have applied pressure in teh past to have things turn out a specifi way to help with the drama of the show. I'm pretty sure that breaking up the brothers would have been worse in their eyes than having them both being there at the end. With that thought in mind, is it possible to give the title to either of them over the other? I think that unless Kevin poisons someone he walks away with the title next week. policyvote
BTW, everyone really curious about what's up should check out the judges' blogs over at Bravo: http://www.bravotv.com/top-chef/season-6/blogs. Colicchio confirms that Jen's dishes were too salty, something he's usually the first to pound the table and holler about. Gail confirms that they didn't show nearly enough of her raving about Bryan's dishes. Kevin, I think, is still the favorite in my mind. His simple-yet-deeply-nuanced, local, seasonal, stuff is right up Coliccho's alley. Byran and Mike's molecular stuff can be awesome, but it's only a hit when they nail everything--and they often make too much work for themselves to really nail everything. Sugar Magnolia
If Jenn hadn't mentioned she was looking to grill the duck, Mike would've went home. Not sure why Tom decided to push on that aspect, he was originally blown away by the duckiness of the duck. I feel he wanted to give Mike another chance because he has been so strong. That egg Padma was served was by far the worst thing on any plate. Plus for TV viewing the bros have to be in the finals. I think Michael and Brian would have had to burn their dishes not to go through.

Kevin's flavors versus the Brothers' technique and style make for a more compelling finish.

"I wanted to grill it to add smoke, but I actually wasn't very disappointed when I had to adjust, and ultimately I think it may have turned out better this way cooking in its own fat and giving it all that 'duckiness'". if she just said that, I think that whole thing works more to her advantage than disadvantage. still, she was probably the logical one to go home.
