The IE I was using allowed tabs to run across the top of the window (under the URL) so I could have 5-10 "tabs" open on a single window ... VERY efficient browsing. Now, the new machine is requiring me to have a different window for each search going on. VERY inefficient. How do I get back to the old set up with multiple tabs on a single window? So these days I'm rocking an old laptop with 512MB of RAM (upgrade coming in the mail soon)... and this thing turns into a brick when I launch Firefox. I can't seem to get the browser to stop taking up over 100MB of memory by itself. I'm becoming a Google Chrome guy. It runs like a greased ferret. Right now... Chrome with 6 tabs open... 41MB. Sweet. slambo Posted September 1, 2009 Share Posted September 1, 2009 Well, I switched to Firefox 3.0.11 and was able to import all my favorites. I will probably upgrade at some point. I'm so glad I listened to fellow huddlers and made the switch. Runs so much faster for me and I haven't run into any problems. Lots of nice features you can add. From a programmers standpoint, Mozilla never quite got it right.Your It guy is correct about Chome, but it will be good when everything is brought up to snuff. I'll probably go back to Firefox once I quadruple the RAM in this box, but for now to run lean and mean I'll just stay away from the goat porn and warez sites. The easiest: Nt sure what OS you have, but theyre all similar pretty much. go to the C drive. Go to Docs and Settings Look for whatever account you use to login. Might be several, so if you use auto login, youll need to figure out what profile they are in. Open the folder for said account, and look for the Favorites folder. Copy that to a thumb drive and paste that same folder in thew same location on the new PC. Feel free to PM me and I can help out if this makes no sense.
