SLGRAF
I don't mind responding to WDIS questions, so long as the person includes their lineup requirements, scoring system, and each player's matchup during the week in question. Leave any of that out, and I am out.

Maybe its more to the fact that a post will be on page 2 within 2-3 hours than anything. At any rate.... back atcha.

Company of Heroes
a post will be on page 2 within 2-3 hours Very true, forgot about that. If you post a topic and it isn't answered in 15 minutes, it will be gone forever....
Double Agent
WDIS threads are fine. I even like looking at some of them. But the "rate my team" posts have got to stop.

Leave any of that out, and I am out. Agreed. You get out of it what you put into it. Take a little time asking the question, and people will take the time to answer it. I also prefer if they put in a little blurb about their thoughts on the situation. You show that you have actually thought about it and aren't another one of the posters looking for someone to make their decisions for them, then take the blame if it doesn't work out, and I will take the time to respond.... if I find the post. Very true, forgot about that. If you post a topic and it isn't answered in 15 minutes, it will be gone forever.... And if you bump your own post (not directed at you CoH, don't believe you've been guilty of this, just a general statement) after 15 minutes or even an hour, I'll ignore it. Most of us more "prolific" advice posters go to the last unread post for us and work our way up.... the more you bump, the longer it'll take us to get to it. cffl2323
so what topics in this forum are worthy of everyone's time and effort? before i post something crazy like asking for fantasy advice.
Big Country
so what topics in this forum are worthy of everyone's time and effort? before i post something crazy like asking for fantasy advice. If you notice, most agree that WDIS, draft advice, trade advice, waiver advice, etc. are perfectly fine, so long as the person posting does something more than just say WDIS, Player A or Player b with no supporting information, such as scoring system in particular for WDIS. Basically, if you as someone asking for advice can not be bothered to provide the information required to provide sound, well thought out advice and show that you are actually trying to come to a decision on your own and are looking for additional view points, then we (using the collective here for the longer time advice guys) won't be bothered to take our time to run your team for you. So, at least for me, what I look for when deciding if I will respond to a post or not, trying to come up with sound advice to provide, is: WDIS - who are you deciding between (give name and matchup, not everyone has schedule memorized), what is the scoring system (give details, saying standard is useless as there are 500+ "standard" scoring systems), and a little something about what your thoughts are thus far causing you the dilemma. Trade advice - Need scoring system (provide details), starting lineup requirements and your current full roster, as well as a little something about why you are considering the trade and what your indecision is for Waiver advice - pretty much the same info as trade advice Draft Advice - Need number of teams, your draft spot if known, lineup requirements, scoring system, league tendencies if known and a blurb on your thoughts initially. Rate my team threads - I generally ignore these. They provide little value to the boards other than to give warm fuzzies to the person posting. The few that add value are those that are presented as less of a rate my team and more of a, here is what happened in my draft, providing details of the decisions faced in each round and what the decision making process was for those picks so that other owners in similar situations can review that and see what decisions they agree/disagree with and get some discussion going about it. Quite frankly, very few of the posters in this forum take the time to put any effort into their questions or their teams in general. It comes down to, if you can't be bothered to try and help yourself, why should we be bothered to try and help you.
