Perchoutofwater
I'm still bothered with people who spend their time blowing hard and spewing misinformation about everything. I haven't changed a bit. So... you're saying that before Obama was the nominee you were outrageously mad at the democratic congress for trampling the constitution in a way you supported a year earlier from republicans? That's when the change happened? Just find me the part where you criticized a Republican for it, and I'll be on my way. kthx. I've criticized Bush on numerous occasions for singing all the spending increases and increasing the scope of government. I've also criticized parts of the Patriot Act. wildcat2334
I definitely do not want the country to fail, I just don't want it fundamentally changed. Look at the czars Obama has appointed, from racists, communists, wacked out animal rights nuts, to a science czar that supports forced abortion. Look at the amount of debt what Obama has proposed will amass. He has already spend more in 8 months than Bush did in 8 years. It isn't that we don't like the guy, it is he is pissing on the constitution, admittedly trying to fundamentally change the country, and surrounding himself with a bunch of far far left people. good gawd man you need some new material................................ this is some crazy chit you are spewing

On fiscal issues I'm about as conservative as they come.

WaterMan
He's really spent more in 8 months than the Iraq and Afghan wars? That sounds like radio propoganda there. I typed into Google: How much has Obama spent so far. I'm finding he's spent about 2 Trillion so far. That's compared to Bush's $21 Trillion. bpwallace49
I gotta say I'm thinking our founding fathers would vehemently been against the government providing healthcare for 300 million people, . I totally agree. Please post a link where what is proposed is simple providing free healthcare for 300 million people. 'cause the current bill doesnt do anything of the kind. There are definitely problems with the bill. I wish I could see any bipartisan progress at all. I have yet to see any proposals whatsoever from the other side of the aisle besides "your bill sucks, and we dont feel like helping". Thanks in advance. Please click on the link very slowly. For Lazy Liberals You just dont get it . .. do you. Proposing something that is guaranteed to never get seriously discussed is NOT progress or bipartisanship. If you are seriously using that as a banner of how "reasonable" the right has been, you are SADLY mistaken. How is it progress to NOT work on a solution, but only say "my side is right, do what we want"? The left AND right are doing this . . . and maybe if the right was on board from day one and committed to finding a solution then the "never seriously considered bill" might have parts integrated. Paul Ryan has a TON of good ideas, that COULD have been introduced as amendments or actually working to get something accomplished. Instead, he introduced a bill that was never seriously designed to be implemented. But nice try! PS-I absolutely LOVE the fact you chose a bill written by Paul Ryan, a congressman I interned for a decade ago in DC. Well, you are right there about the 300 million coverage thing not being specifically spelled out. However, I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility that this legislation would seriously impact private health care to the point that the US becomes mostly a "public option" scenario. I will say though, I think our forefathers would have been against the people relying on the government for the things they are proposing. When you rely on the government, you give them more power. No link. I'm just trying to form an opinion on this from multiple sources, etc. and not just regurgitating along party lines, etc. At the moment, I'm not real happy with what I've read from either side. Which brings me back to my original post on this...a systematic approach to change things, not an ill advised "one bill fixes it all" approach, which I think is unrealistic. Perchoutofwater
If we are to have any real health care reform that isn't just a guise for increasing the size and scope of government, and that doesn't drastically increase the cost of health care overall (even if it only the rich paying for it), then we need to address four issues. 1. We need to enforce our immigration laws both on illegal immigrants and on the businesses that hire them. 2. We need to have significant tort reform as it is estimated that 10% of health care cost is made up of malpractice insurance and defensive medicine. 3. We need to make insurance portable, and get rid of BS requirements placed on insurance by the state and federal government. Put reasonable catastrophic minimum requirements on insurance and make everyone have this insurance (similar to liability only car insurance) and then if they want more let them pick the amount of coverage they want and can afford. Sever the relationship between employers and insurance. 4. Have the government actually pay a fair rate for the medical services it pays for through medicare and medicaid. We're certainly on the same page on #3 for the most part. I like the analogy with auto insurance. I'd apply the same methodology to social security. Definitely sever the employer - insurance relationship and make insurance portable, again like auto insurance. #1 isn't as significant as it is made out to be (though it is an issue that needs to be addressed) and #2 is a red herring entirely. #4 depends on your definition of "fair". I've seen hospital charges that are flat out insane.
