I was in the audience of the Tonight Show some years back (just a face in the crowd)......also was "featured" (lead in for a story w/full page photo :shiver: ) in a Kiplinger's mag article a few years back.

About it unless you count calling into a radio show a time or 2 in the AM to try and win some free stuff while driving to work.

You?

A few years ago in the background for about 1.5 seconds as the camera scanned our classroom.

The show? America's Most Wanted

They did a story on small town Minnesota girl moves to Texas and becomes a stripper and is killed by one of her clients. They interviewed our Spanish teacher with us watching in our seats.

I was pictured in our local paper twice. One was a shot of our softball team with me pitching. The other time me and my grandson were on the front page of the sports section. I was pitching to him after one of my softball games. He was only 5 years old at the time and he was using my bat, which was as big as he was. Even had a short interview (story) with both of us.

When I got back from Desert Storm, there was a big production of family and friends at the airport complete with the local news. I was 19, $hit faced drunk and wearing a Danzig t-shirt with the sleeves cut off and had a flanel on over it  . I spent the whole interview trying to pick up the news chick. The only thing they showed was me walking throughthe airport and the crowd. No usable material from the interview.

On various baseball highlights @ 20 yrs ago at a yankee game. Claudell Washington hit a long drive to right field and I fought Devon White (Angels) for the ball. I lost.

Dave Winfield was on me for the rest of the game. My bro & I were the only ones in the entire right fileld section.

In high school I made the local paper's sports section probably about 10 to 12 times, and the local sports radio talk show a few times. Since adulthood I've been in the paper for a few charity events my wife has chaired and in several trade publications.

High School sports

Plenty of High School yearbook pictures (not counting sports / clubs)

Full page action shot in the newspaper.

One background appearance in an English rap video in the early 90s. Video was local to London only.

Background appearances with Representative Smith, Governors Locke and Gregoire, Medal of Honor recipient Levitow, some charity events, etc.

Couple crowd shots at sporting events. Most recently was being next to a kid that got to do an activity during an Alaska Wild (indoor football) game.

Currently? Occasionally the camera catches me on film during a weekly continuing educational series for medical providers. Not mass market media, but recorded live.

Non-recorded video can be a daily occurrence. I have a high def VTC system on my desk.

Prolly the coolest was being listed as "Nine to watch in '09" in the front page section of the Raleigh paper this past January. The cool part, frankly, was the company I was in. Among the other nine was the Governor elect, the woman who unseated Dole for the US Senate seat, the new White House Press Secty. (who was from Raleigh it seems), and John Wall, the HS basketball phenom ranked #1 overall recruit. I honestly have no idea why I made that list. I could have understood being listed as 9 to watch in my industry in the food section but not overall.

Other than that, it's always been cooking related regardless of the city I lived in. Never on any relevant TV station, though. At least nothing I can recall.

The usual, restaurant reviews, a few interviews, charity announcements..

None of my HS sports ever earned me more than a line in the box score.

I tried out as a walk-on for the movie Taps back in the early 80's. They were only looking for local extras, but seemed to like me enough that they flew me to LA to audition for a speaking role. Me and my dad got to meet Sean Penn and a very young Tom Cruise. Very cool experience.

Didn't get the part, but the local news was all over it ....local kid potentially making it big, etc. We still have the tape of the news piece.

oh, forgot to mention I am regularly quoted as "the dog expert" for local articles.

Here's me on my TV gig:

This dog is now doing local TV commercials and hopefully my contribution in

training him helped. She was fresh out of my beginner class when this was filmed.

This ones kind of boring but my lastest one:

http://kohd.com/page/139484 It was boring because I added lots of distraction for the stay and they

edited it down and only showed one. I had a dog running down between the dogs, and me running down between

them trying to get them to break the stay, but it was all cut out.

Back in 1999(or around there) the local news interviewed me and then had me do a brief little skit while I was on my route. It was the year McGwire broke the HR record and was fighting with Sammy Sosa. The skit was cute as I didn't close the mailbox lid and the sportscaster waved me back just like McGwire when he missed first base and the coach had to wave him back to touch it.

If that wasn't enough, I get a call from The Late Show again because of my name and they want to fly me up to NYC to be on the show. Turns out it was just an appearance on the Top 10 List as the list was for "Favorite Florida Names". The whole audience for that show was flown in from Miami. I appeared on stage with a guy named Sammy Sosa. I just said my name and he said his and they flash our drivers licenses on the screen so people know that our names are legit. Some of the names were cute and a few of them had to do with Clinton, like Clinton Cox, Clinton Dong....My favorites were 2 guys named John Paul and George Ringo. One guy had the name Jack Gass and the finale was Dave Suc.

I had an absolute blast in NYC. Immediately after our segment we were supposed to wait in the green room, but a couple of us knew there was a bar around the corner so we went and had a couple beers. Then this chick that was in charge of the show comes running into the bar and said they were looking all over for us. Turns out we still had our clip on microphones on while talking like sailors. There was a play going on across the street that was receiving our signal and they could hear every word we said. Then of course after our show was done, a few of us went to a bar and got sh*tfaced. I'll never forget walking down Park Ave. like a chorus line singing "New York, New York" at 2:00AM.

I still have the VHS tapes of both shows somewhere. Would like to convert them to DVD, but my recorder is busted.

Forgot to add that while waiting upstairs for makeup, this lady dressed in black with shades on walked right in front of me. It was Glenn Close. I didn't really think she was that short, but she is.
