Tally
NE cut Paris Lenon. I was shocked by that move., P. Lenon had out produced E. Sims in both 07 and 08 for Det so when NE signed Lenon and then T. Bruschi retired I thought for sure Lenon would have an excellent opportunity to produce strong stats in NE. BeeR
Local news just announced the Colt's cuts... Mike Hart - RB -- was the biggest surprise b/c I knew they liked this kid, but injuries caught up to him. Josh Tomas - DE Jamie Thomas - OT Lance Ball - RB Marcus Howard - DT Other notable news: Curtis Painter was kept on the roster!! This is a big surprise as the Colt's typically only keep two QB's!! Also, Sanders was placed on the active roster... really thought he would start the season on the PUP... So the Colts have only 2 RBs of even mild note (I think the 3d guy is Chad freaking Simpson ) - get Rhodes back, for crying out loud. Keeping Painter is hopeful - could Sorgi finally be on the way out? Hell I'd take Garcia over either easily.

Lenon was at best a special teamer for the Packers until he was cut and signed with the Lions. The defense played a LOT which led to a lot of tackles, not because he had some special ability. Randall
Eagles released QB A.J. Feeley, according to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer. Think TT will claim him? I hope he does or Garcia. Pollard may be a good claim too.

muck
Somehow I doubt that Zach Thomas is real excited about being brought in to be (in many ways) the face of the defense, only to get cut at this stage of the game. And, I know many weren't real pleased with the way BPollard had played last year, but I was a little surprised at this, too. And, Ashley Lelie is looking like a good UFL candidate about now... Randall
The Rams claimed Anthony Smith. I was sorry Anthony Smith was cut and Martin traded for. I thought Smith outplayed Bigby. Flypaste
Eagles released QB A.J. Feeley, according to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer. Jason La CanforaEagles release QB Feeley, but not because of Vick Posted: September 6th, 2009 | NFL.com Staff The Eagles have released veteran QB AJ Feeley today, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, but not because Michael Vick is being moved to the active roster, as some have speculated. The Eagles claimed Antonio Dixon on waivers from Washington today, according to a source, and needed a roster spot. For now the team will continue to use its exemption for Vick. CaP'N GRuNGe
Vikes got Booty and Ian Johnson among others back for the practice squad. http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=3291 Vikings announce practice squad September 6th, 2009 – 3:08 PM by Chip Scoggins The Vikings have announced their eight-member practice squad on the team website. It can be found right here. Here is the list: DB Colt Anderson: The undrafted rookie free agent from Montana reportedly received a $20,000 signing bonus to join the Vikings. Given that amount is a pretty good sum for an undrafted player it’s no surprise the Vikings wanted to stash him on the practice squad. The Vikings kept five safeties and Anderson didn’t appear to have a real good shot of making the 53-man roster. Seventh-round pick Jamarca Sanford was among those who beat him out. QB John David Booty: Perhaps Booty’s poor performance in Friday’s preseason finale against Dallas was the best thing that could have happened for the Vikings. If any team thought about claiming Booty off waivers, it probably changed when they watched film of that game. Booty remains a definite work in progress and if he can develop could have a future in Minnesota. Keep in mind, Brett Favre is eventually going to have to retire and Tarvaris Jackson could be a free agent after this season. OT Chris Clark: He also was a member of the Vikings practice squad last season after going to training camp with Tampa Bay in 2008. Listed at 6-5, 315 pounds, Clark played college football at Southern Miss. He started the final 39 consecutive games at Southern Miss and was a first-team All-Conference USA choice by league coaches as a senior. RB Ian Johnson: He was impressive against the Cowboys but the decision to keep the slightly more experienced Albert Young on the 53-man roster was the right one. Young was on the practice squad last season and got plenty of valuable experience. Johnson stands to get the same this year. He finished third on the Vikings in rushing during the preseason with 117 yards on 33 carries and two touchdowns. Young had 141 yards on 40 carries, meaning both players averaged 3.5 yards per rush. DT Tremaine Johnson: Signed as an undrafted free agent, Johnson (6-2, 285 pounds) was listed third on the depth chart behind Kevin Williams and Letroy Guion at under tackle. Johnson played college football at LSU and has plenty of big-game experience. He should learn plenty playing behind Pro Bowl tackles Kevin and Pat Williams. TE Garrett Mills: Spent time on the Vikings’ 53-man roster each of the past two seasons, but did not make the cut this time. Mills has very good hands (his 201 receptions at Tulsa rank second all-time among Division I-A tight ends) and the coaching staff likes him, but he has struggled with various injuries since arriving in Minnesota in 2007. Of all the players the Vikings got through waivers, Mills is the one I thought actually might be claimed. WR Nick Moore: The undrafted rookie free agent out of Toledo was an incredible long shot to make the 53 — the Vikings kept six wide receivers — but he impressed throughout training camp and the Vikings were likely very happy to get him on the practice squad. Moore had four receptions for 37 yards during the preseason and appears to have a shot to make a roster at some point. OT Drew Radovich: Signed as an undrafted free agent by the Vikings in 2008, Radovich spent most of last season on the injured reserve because of trouble with his shoulder. That was after he had made the opening-day roster. He was unable to do so this time around, the Vikings kept eight offensive linemen as opposed to nine a year ago, but could get a quick promotion if there is an injury at tackle. Seahawks21
Not as many big names as usual. Teams that were hoping to fill a few remaining holes for the most part have found themselves out of luck.
