euphy
I didn't see Brian Westbrook play a down in the preseason, and he had ankle surgery. McCoy get a ton of work this year?
Balzac
As a Westbrook owner, I hope he does get a fair amount of work to keep BW fresh. That said, I can't imagine he gets a ton of work unless there's an injury. Westbrook is Reid's most trusted weapon and it's not like he's going to abandon him unless he's lost 2 steps (and there's no indication that this has happened). Avernus
I think Westy should get about 15-20 touches a game and then give carries to either McCoy or Buckley....if not both...
i_am_the_swammi
Temper your expecations for McCoy. Unless Westbrook gets injured, McCoy is in line to see somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-8 carries per game, depending on the situation. The guy to keep an eye on is Buckley. As I mentioned in another thread, if he takes on the role of vulture, he could put a serious dent in Westbrook's stats.
Samson
When Westbrook brakes down . . . not if . . . McCoy will be gold. I see him supplanting Westbrook at some point this year, and love him as a dynasty/keeper option.
Balzac
Let's be serious with Westbrook - has he really been much less durable than other top shelf RBs in fantasy over the last 3 years? He's missed 5 games over the last 3 years (actually 4, but I'm counting one where he got hurt mid-game as the 5th). That's actually pretty damn durable. I think this whole idea that Westbrook isn't durable and/or will absolutely break down this year is a little nutty. He had surgery in the offseason but it wasn't for major issues - we're not talking ACLs here. He cleaned up some things that will undoubtedly result in him being more durable this year. I've said the same thing, however he's had problems with knee swelling the past 3-4 years.... it's like he's a ticking time bomb imo... No doubt, but he's played through it for the most part. Besides, the knee surgery he had in the offseason was a cleanout that was intended to fix/alleviate that swelling. Even if it recurs, he's a gamer and I have no doubt he'll put up very solid numbers this year.

I'm not taking him in the 1st either. That said, I really don't see him as any more of an injury risk than ADP, Gore, LT or SJax - all of these guys have injury histories at least as spotty as his . . .
