Puddy
I'm not sure but I do believe that all the Christmas songs that are good have been written and recorded. So I beg current and all future artists. Please don't make any more. Please.
Choppy
Silent Night My all time favorite. The chior at our church sang this in German at Christmas mass last year. Beautiful. I believe it was originally written and sung in German.

westvirginia
Do you hear what I hear and Oh Holy Night are a couple of my faves. There's also a jazzy, beatnik kind of version of What Child is this. Sky, Ursa? Who did it?

Grits and Shins
I mostly like the classics done in the traditional style. I think Silent Night is probably my favorite.

Grits and Shins
Peace on Earth / Little Drummer Boy - David Bowie & Bing Crosby Both are good ones ... White Christmas is nice I can't recall the name of the song ... but the one where the child can't afford red shoes for his dying mother ... that is a good one too. millerx
WHite Christmas - Bing Crosby "Little Drummer Boy" by Bing and Bowie is pretty awesome and a favorite of mine. +2 ETA: Anything by Johnny Mathis or Andy Williams!!! Two of the all-time best selling Xmas albums are from these two artists. A newer songs that are already instant classics in my mind: Where are you Christmas by Faith Hill and When Christmas comes to town from The Polar Express soundtrack Edited November 24, 2009 by millerx

cre8tiff
THis is an excellent song, but sad (originally by Joni Mitchell): And if you don't know who does this cover, you may be surprised.
