MikesVikes
The Pro Bowl will be played the week before the Super Bowl. Players playing in the Super Bowl will obviously not be playing in the Pro Bowl game. There are very few NFL players that would rather be playing in the Pro Bowl instead of the NFL Championship game. Will there be a bigger emphasis on the Pro Bowl now? I say no. What say you? Does anyone see any advantages?
tazinib1
Dumbest thing I've ever seen the NFL do. I wonder how many SB participants will be missing this game but still cashing in on there Pro Bowl contract bonus. Bogus if you ask me. Big John
This is a 1-year deal and the Pro Bowl will be returning to Hawaii for the following 2 seasons. Looks to be an experimental approach to try to increase interest in it.
Savage Beatings
Here's what they need to do with the Pro Bowl... switch it back to after the Superbowl, and then instead of playing a football game, turn it into some kind of hybrid American Gladiators/Battle of the Network Stars/Running Man survival game. Whiskey Pimp
I saw on the CBS pre game show that the NFL sent out a letter saying that all players voted to the Pro Bowl that are playing in the Super Bowl are required to attend the Pro Bowl for the player introductions. So instead of being home and getting extra preparation for the Super Bowl they need to be in Miami to stand there and be introduced. What a joke. kpholmes
There's a two week gap between the conference championship games and the Superbowl. You really don't think people will want to watch football during that bye week?
Cowboyz1
Dumb, just dumb, not only have you just exluded suposendly the BEST of the BEST from playing in the game you also won't have many players that play because the season just ended and are banged up from the weeks prior games. Now it's become a week 18 Grind Game, instead of a relaxing fun in the sun with family with healty recovered bodies on the field. I bet NFL player attendance drops minimum 30% due to health concerns.Bad Idea, very bad Idea. Edited November 23, 2009 by Cowboyz1
wildcat2334
bigger emphasis? does anyone even watch it? the Pro Bowl sucks anyway - it is a complete bore and alot of the best players don't end up playing in it anyway

It's just a dumb idea. Baseball is the best because it's not as much of a team oriented sport. Basketball is cool because it's still entertaining even when guys are just going half-assed on D. Football is a game that absolutely must be played balls to the walls or it's just lame. Mind you, I'll only bother with any All-Star game if I literally have nothing better to do. ETA: T minus whatever until some baseball purist comes along and blasts me for forgetting all the teamwork involved in turning 2. BeeR
I'm more likely to watch. Having it in the same location as the SB is nice boost to the host city's revenues. As for guys like Ray Lewis saying that Hawaii makes it more special since they can bring their family and make a vacation of it... screw you rich-boy. You can afford to take your family any time you want. I'm calling him "Token" from now on. racist. Next thing you know you'll be accusing him of a felony like oh, covering up a murder or 2. The man oppressin again. Re the Pro Bowl, they should get rid of the game and the balloting for that matter. It's all a total joke. CaP'N GRuNGe
Haven't watched the pro bowl in years. Maybe they'll rename it the toilet bowl.
42zero
The pro bowl is the new super bowl. Its the most important game of the season because all the best players are in it. The super bowl is just the game after when 2 teams that played well all year get to face off. People are realizing the pro bowl is more important now and thats why it is being played first. Yep, I totally agree. he can drop $10,000 on a club med vacation and still probably write it off. veteran minimum is like $350,000. thats more than most people make in 5 yrs. im sure ray is upwards of $7-$8 Mil. he could probably BUY a portion of one of the fricken islands...total joke. Back on Subject, totally bad idea, but like everyone is saying, most of the "best" players are playing anyway, so who really cares? its basically a "rah rah" for the NFL. you KNOW how under appreciated and underpaid these guys are... christ
Mark5
Haven't watched it in YEARS. About the only thing worthwhile is you have a shot at hitting your squares if you have TWOs or FIVEs.

griff321
Ray Lewis is such a cash chucker. Really tho Ray has a point, you all ready have two teams of the best players not going to be there and this is just another reason for stars to skip it. Not that I've ever been able to stay awake watching it anyway, but it seems like they're taking the wrong step.
keggerz
we should start a movement to vote for nothing but Browns on the AFC side and Lions on the NFC side.....get this baby some internet steam and the NFL will get screwed and have to change their system
