Fox posted an article with a sensational and false headline. BeeR posted it. I commented "Does anyone have a link to a reliable source instead of Fox"? The thread was deleted. BeeR posted it again. Righties read the headline and got up in arms. I again asked for a link other than Fox. The non-Fox links corrected the totally BS headline. The Navy Seal sharpshooters that killed the pirates holding the Captain of the Maersk Alabama hostage apparently acted with only the order of the Captain on the naval ship they were on, which outraged the White House and upper brass, even though the White House took credit for the incident. As I said, I have heard this from two sources who should know and several others. Whether it is true or not, it is certainly an opinion running rampant through the military. They think the charging of these Navy Seals for basically "slapping'" is payback for the supposed unauthorized (from upper brass) Seals rescue of the Maersk Captain. Sort of a "We're going to tell you who is boss," statement. I have also heard (but have no really good source for this) that the General (his name escapes me) who made a statement after the Fort Hood massacre about his concern about diversity in the military was expressing a prevailing opinion of the top dogs. While vitriol is not necessary, any of us could create a post and announce we have very good sources. However, when atomic posted that this was the title of the Fox 'News' story, I went to check it out for myself. The fact that people still frequent a site like Fox is beyond me. I would not have mentioned anything, except that I heard the same thing from two different people on the same day. One of them is a retired Navy Seal, the other is a defense industry executive. One of those is a relative. I expected some vigorous discussion of the theory. I admit that I did not expect the nastiness. Well, I expect that I will receive some more, as one of the above sources just sent me a link to a transcript of two callers recently to the Rush Limbaugh show. Laugh all you want, but the second caller seems to be describing what I tried to tell you: Navy Seals charged My only point ever was that this is being discussed in the military, and that cannot be good, true or not. That's because the message time stamps reflect a different time zone. Mine is showing up as 9:34 which is Pacific time. Posts and embedded quotes often do not match. And I did read it. All of it.
