MrTed46
I am commishioner in my MFL league and I may need to do a score adjustment based on the Saints TD. Is this possible? Also, how do I do this? For example, I will award a TD to Maechum or Saints D but I do not know how to do this. Obviously, before I do anything I must read the rules carefully and make a decision. The owners are asking for a ruling soon.
Grits and Shins
Yes you can manually adjust a score in MFL. But I'm not clear on why you would ... making a manual adjustment subverts the rules that are already in place. Your scoring rules currently set up in MFL do not allow for offensive fumble recovery TDs ... if you make a manual adjustment you are essentially changing the scoring rules under which you have played all season. If you make this adjustment will you make the rule retroactive for all games previously played? And if it changes the outcome of a game that occurred prior to this week will you change the results? myhousekey
I normally wait until MFL's scoring to become final on Tuesday before making any manual changes. To change the score go to For Commissioners Setup Player Score Adjuster We will be adjusting our league scores to remove 2 fantasy points from the Saints Defense for a defensive fumble recovery by Meachem (We ruled back in 2007 that a defense can not get points for a fumble recovery if they aren't on the field). We will also award a 44 yard rushing TD to Meachem. We do not currently have the "Offensive Fumble Recovery TD" category setup in MFL and thus need to manually add his TD. The Meachem TD portion of the play was not specifically spelled out in our rules and thus the commissioners reviewed and agreed to score it as a rushing TD. ts
For Commissioners > Setup > Adjust Scores & Standings ... there are maybe 8 options under the "Adjust" menu, some having to do with teams, players, scoring, etc others having to with manual adjustments to the league standings. Also read the MFL Help files before you proceed with any manual adjustments. You may also want to take a look at this thread, depending on how your league scoring parameters are set up, MFL may have taken care of this situation for you already. http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=310705 Edited December 7, 2009 by ts

If I make a change it will be retroacvtive from week 1. I have to think hard and long about this as the league as a whole thinks this TD should get credited somewhere, the defense or maechum. I do not think this has happened in the past but I will comb through the stats to make sure. What a messed up situation. And of course, this affects playoffs. slinger
I have the following rule listed in our scoring rules: 10.0 The league website scoring will be considered the FINAL authority on all NFL scoring stats and plays. FINAL scores are released the morning after the last game of the week. Scoring rules may not be changed once the season has started. It's in there for these unusual rules. We will amend next years scoring rules to include the Offense TD fumble rule, but it's a closed case this year.

This scenario last happened 6 years ago. Give it a break. And besides, if MFL had settings wrong but their own rules state otherwise why would MFL take precedence?
