wiegie
awesome: the Megan Foxbag can sue the cops because it was their fault he crashed: http://www.wlwt.com/r/24734083/detail.html Police: Teen Was Arrested 1 Hour Before CrashBrennan Eden In Critical Condition POSTED: 6:04 pm EDT August 23, 2010 UPDATED: 11:30 am EDT August 24, 2010 DAYTON, Ohio -- Police said a Mason teenager was arrested one hour before a crash in which his car went airborne and slammed into a concrete pillar. Brennan S. Eden, 19, of Mason, Ohio, lost control of his car and slammed into the concrete pillar along Interstate 675 in Sugarcreek Township about 7:15 a.m. Monday, investigators said. The force of the crash broke the car into three pieces, and Eden was ejected. He remains in critical condition. Beavercreek police issued a release Tuesday stating that Eden had been arrested at 6:13 a.m. on the morning of the crash. Officers said they found Eden and a juvenile female in his car in a parking lot near the corner of Beaver Vu Drive and North Fairfield Road. Officers said Eden was found to be in possession of an unopened can of alcohol, a trace of Josh Gordon and drug paraphernalia. Police said Eden was cooperative and did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the arrest. Officers released Eden at 6:54 a.m. About 20 minutes later, witnesses said Eden was passing other drivers at speeds of at least 100 mph. He crashed when he drove off the left side of the roadway while passing a Sugarcreek Township police car. The crash was caught on that officer's cruiser camera. "He went down into the median, into the grass, hit the guardrail, went airborne and the car hit the center post of the bridge and literally exploded into three main pieces," said witness Mark Riley. Police said Eden was alert and conscious after the crash and was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight. "He is very lucky to still be alive at this point," said Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Marty Fellure. "You can see behind me the impact he took and where he got ejected and landed. He's a very fortunate man right now." Fellure said they are still investigating the crash, trying to determine the driver's speed and why he was passing cars on the berm.
TimC
My 87 Firebird would've never reached 100 MPH before exploding. Bottom line is it was going to break into 3 pieces by hitting the bridge or millions by simply blowing up.

Skippy
Wow! That was wicked assume. I wish that pilliar was not there. Not just for the sake of the kid but I would love to have seen how that car landed if not for the sudden stop.

As a recipient of an Adam's Apple like that, who, driving too fast and came down thru the center median and popped out right in front of me at 65 mph, I applaud the fact the Adam's Apple hit the pillar and stopped himself from landing on anyone else who may have been driving like a normal person. I'm glad he's alive and hope he has the privilege of walking around with a bunch of metal in his body for the rest of his life.
