Final Harris Poll

Here I was about to trash the Harris Poll for being completely effed up but then I realized that CBS was simply using the last Harris Poll before the bowl games. But it seems like they're using those rankings to determine the final BCS?

Final BCS rankings?

What's up with that?

Final BCS rankings was the one to determine the BCS NC. BCS does not rank teams after the bowls. Here are the final rankings.

If that really is the final BCS poll, I am really surprised TCU is still #3...

Like Rocker says, it isn't. And, if it was there'd be worse things than that. After all, if you're going to drink the BCS kool-aid (and you'd have to think that the voting bodies and such are), then it's fair to say that the BCS decided Auburn and Oregon were #1 and #2. Thus, losing that game, especially on a last second FG would not change that.

Granted, if, like me, you think the whole thing is a crock, then that doesn't matter. But one could see the logic. Unlike, for instance MSU remaining a top 10 team despite getting completely housed in a 2nd tier bowl game. Or, for that matter WVU being ranked at all and at the expense of an NC St team that has the same record and beat them in their bowl. Or FSU staying behind USC despite having a better record and beating them. And the list goes on.

very impressive

What's even more impressive is that 3 out of the last 4 BCS National Champions play in the SEC West.

LSU

Alabama

Auburn

How tough is LSU schedule next season?

Tigers 2011 schedule includes the last three defending BCS National Champions plus this year's BCS runnerup Oregon and a road trip to Morgantown to take on West Virginia Mountaineers ?
