Chavez
Rush, Motorhead, or ZZ Top? And before anyone says "Cream" I am already telling you to get that weak-ass sh*t outta here.
skylive5
I think you could place PPM with those other three.

Chavez
The Police had just 3 guys right ? I dont remember Uh, the "power" tends to imply a rock of the harder variety. Though The Police were really f'in good, main problem being Sting's solo career has always made me remember them as being worse than they actually were. skylive5
Yeah, let's slap the Dixie Chicks up there while we're at it. The Dixie Chicks should pray for even half the talent of PPM. And of your three I would go with ZZ.
tazinib1
Grand Funk Railroad and one of my all time favorites...Nirvana
Chavez
....of your three I would go with ZZ. Tough to argue with America's leading dispensors* of Texas boogie. Fun fact - Billy Gibbons was Jimi Hendrix's favorite guitarist. * - I think if we went worldwide, ZZ would edge Foghat by a nose
skylive5
On the serious side ..... The Jimi Hendrix Experience would be my choice. And maybe Blue Cheer or Grand Funk Railroad.

And the answer is Motorhead, of course.

SheikYerbuti
Fun fact - Billy Gibbons was Jimi Hendrix's favorite guitarist. Link please. Putting ZZ Top ahead of Cream is just silly. Cream was historically important to the history of 20th century music. ZZ Top had beards and sang about chicks that wouldn't touch them with a house cue if they weren't famous. I'd like to vote for the Fripp/Bruford/Lake incarnation of King Crimson (the Red years), but in truth I'd have to vote for Rush between 2112 and Moving Pictures. And yes, I think Nirvana belongs in the conversation, big time.

Cream may be historically significant but they ain't the least bit bitchen.

Ursa Majoris
What a quote!! :rotf: Not only a rock God (qv Grohl, Dave) but a great wit too. Oh, in that case it's Motorhead. End of thread. This. Six times they have sent me out with ears ringing. How could anyone else even be in the discussion? Because it's all about power, not necessarily enduring awesomeness. Cameltosis
I would probably vote Motorhead, but SRV and Double Trouble deserves a mention.

Most of the others would be unrecognizable to us today if it weren't for Jimi. That's assuming they even picked up a guitar had Jimi not shown them how. Furd
Rush, Motorhead, or ZZ Top? All excellent choices. Two things come to my mind with I think Power Trio: 1) Ithe music should be somewhat melodic; and 2) Triumph. Gonna roll with ZZ Top. A haw, haw, haw, haw.
