Deer Antler Spray, Hologram Stickers & Ray Lewis

Recommended Posts

Reports are the Ray Ray may have used a banned substance in rehabbing his torn triceps

In a story that includes the phrase "he asks between squirts of deer antler," Sports Illustrated brings the fascinating story of two men aggressively marketing a line of health care supplements -- hologram stickers, the aforementioned deer antler spray, powders, underwear drenched in liquid (seriously) -- to college and pro athletes.

The company's name explains the concept: S.W.A.T.S., which stands for Sports with Alternatives to Steroids.

At the center of the story is none other than Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, who is in New Orleans preparing to play the final game of his NFL career on Sunday. It is not coincidental that this story dropped on the day of Super Bowl Media Day. (Update: Lewis declined to discuss Sports Illustrated's story.)

Read this over lunch. Interesting story. The question is: since this article came out, can the NFL (or should they) test him/suspend him prior to the Super Bowl?

I am not sure that they can just test him but say they can, and say that they can get the test confirmed prior to the Super Bowl...my guess is that he would appeal and the appeal wouldn't be able to be heard prior to the big game...I could be wrong but that would be my best guess on how it would play out if they did indeed test him...also, my guess is that if it was a rehab thing that stuff is long gone from his body.

Sometimes someone can take tests for years and never fail one but it doesn't mean they weren't taking some sort of PED. Just ask Lance.....

You don't come back from a torn triceps mid-season without doing something.

This guy will get another "pass". The guy has been an amazing LB and a certain HOF'er but the media gives the preacher man almost as big of a pass as they give Obama.

Last night on the radio, Schlereth basically said, "Maybe they should think about taking this off the banned substance list."

Now there's science for you. Forget the fact that this deer stuff is basically HGH, let's remove it from the banned list because some grandstanding clown who, oh by the way is almost certainly going to be working for the same company as you Mark, took it.

That's a fair litmus test; If Ray Lewis does it, it must be OK.

Yep because when you do something wrong/illegal it is the rules that should be changed, rather than punish the people that break them.

That's the NFL. Duh. Good thing they brought in Goodell the "tough guy" eh?

But really who cares? Illegal drug use/dealing, murders, wife beating, animal abuse on a medieval scale....round and round we go, and yawn, so what.....you're good on the field, your team wins, the sports "reporting" putzes keep spin doctoring it all away while everyone looks the other way and whistles. Just win baby. wheeeeeeeeeeeee

Deer antler spray? I have now officially heard it all.

I'm waiting for them to weaponize it. They made it into a spray so it can't be hard to take another step.

How does this spray work? If you just spray it onto the part of your body that is injured, then there is no way it is ever working and you might as well add healers to the the listed of banned substances.

Reading/comprehension not your thing?

You absorb it into the blood stream orally (sprayed under the tongue) and the stuff is basically HGH.
