REALLY tough RB decision for crunch time matchup

Recommended Posts

Which two of these four RBs do I start this week????

Chris Johnson @ Oakland

Ben Tate vs. Jacksonville

Knowshon Moreno @ New England

Shane Vareen vs. Denver

Thinking the first two, but I've been riding Moreno pretty steadily these past half dozen weeks...

This is a 1/2 point PPR league.

Thoughts would be appreciated...

That's tough. I have CJ1K and hate the guy because he is so inconsistent. I would go with Moreno and Tate but Tate and CJ are a toss up 2a & 2b. I like Tate's matchup. I wouldn't go with Vereen simply because he splits carries with Ridley while the other 3 choices get the lions share. This is tough but if you are like me whoever you sit will blow up.

moreno and vereen. maybe cjover vereen since it 1/2 point, but vereen is good for 5-7 catches and should get more touches this week. i will assume it is a close game or they're playing from behind and he will be the back in there in te hurry up and if they're behind.

I am of the opinion to play your studs when you can't decide, I realize CJ2k has bene inconistent but if I am looking at these 4 guys and who I trust to have a big game the most, I would first pick Moreno. Crazy that you have 4 RB2s to decide from, too bad you could'nt trade 2 of them for a Rb1 (too late to do that now I guess)

If you are playing for a win, you have to ask yourself who is the most likely to have a big game. The first is def CJ2k, I nkow he has been so inconsitenet but he is the closest you have to a RB1 this week and he very well maybe be a RB1. I would start him for sure against Oaklands RUn D.

After that it get a bit hard, if this was a full point PPR I would consider VEreen, but in a half point, I think we can eliminate him. So that leaves Moreno and Tate.

Tate has the better matchup, Jags have bene horrid against the run most of the season, I would find it quite hard to not start Tate consiering the matchup.

I just noticec you dont have a flex to put Moreno in damn... well I would go Tate and CJ

Hard decisions to make, but I think Tate is a no brainer this week. After that it's one way now then another an hour later and so on until Sunday morning where you hope to choose correctly.

CJ1k has been one week good one week bad like clockwork the last 8 weeks and in Oakland against their 6th ranked run D he's shaky imo. But, because of who he is if they use him more passing wise he could surprise with two weeks in a row of good performance. Coin flip.

Moreno has been very good, although M. Ball scarfed two 2 TD's from him last week. I believe they will run a bit more to help Peyton and his ankle against a weaker Pat run D this week so I'd expect Moreno to get 20+ touches again. Weird how he fell off a cliff catching passes though last week.

Vereen is a wildcard but against the 4th ranked run D of Denver I wouldn't expect much on the rushing side. He may get around high single digit carries this week and another 8+ targets in the passing game though. To me he's an upside play in this game.

Were it me I'd go Tate with confidence and Moreno because I think he'll get the same touches as last week although hopefully more in the 20 rushes 5-7 catches range.

Vereen because he's been out and CJ because he's inconsistent are slightly riskier plays this week imo.

I wouldn't fault you for having a coin flip week though. lol Good luck deciding.

Opportunity is one of the most important factors in running backs for me. I think Tate and Moreno will see the most opportunity. Both have had more carries then CJ the past 2 weeks.

Also CJ just had a good game last Thursday, he's probably done for the next 3-4 weeks as he recovers.
