Flex option Week 7: Rueben Randle or Cecil Shorts

My reasons for starting each player and why I am on the fence:

Rueben Randle

Pros:

  • Victor Cruz is out = More looks and more opportunities to score/rack up yardage
  • Randle already gets a significant amount of looks and yards.

Cons:

  • I fear Dallas's def. may swallow up Eli Manning and his O-line
  • Odell Beckham Jr. cuts into Randle's potential receiving opportunities
  • Not a huge concern, but I also fear the Giants will wing this game since they are heading into their bye week.

Cecil Shorts

Pros:

  • He went 10-16 for 108 yds. his first game back coming back from a lingering hamstring injury
  • Toby Gerhart is inactive this week, Jacksonville most likely going to throw the ball.
  • His upcoming schedule looks decent.

Cons:

  • Re-injuring his hamstring
  • Split looks between Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson
  • Jacksonville offense as a whole lol

Thank you for your consideration!

Go with Randle. Big redzone target in a better situation than Shorts. None of the Jags options are really scaring anyone, but Shorts is their best one which means he is probably going to get a lot of 1 on 1's with Joe Haden, which isn't exactly a place I want any of my receivers to be. Unless they are named Antonio Brown, then I want him to exclusively be on Haden.
