isleseeya
no one saw the blatant holding and hands to the face on Dallas Offensive Linemen on the drive that cowboys scored winning TD , which were never called ??? And i am talking blatant ! This after the disgraceful turn over PI call ?? honestly dallas fans are totally delusional to be patting themselves and their team on the back after that hack job by refs . Â Did Dallas make plays , sure . Did detroit not make plays , and make mistakes , absolutely but that one play did effect the result and outcome of the game tremendously . To try and minimize is silly ... Â If i am a Dallas fan , i take the win and get excited to play GB next week but definitely say as little as possible because to the rest of normal Football world , it was clear that there was highway robbery yesterday Edited January 5, 2015 by isleseeya
isleseeya
And the numbers do not lie either : 79.1 % chance of winning game if Lions get the call to stand which it should have   https://m.numberfire...-beat-the-lions Edited January 5, 2015 by isleseeya
whomper
Isle . Your obsession and haterism is borderline embarrassing at this point. At the very least it should have been offsetting penalties . The mans facemask was held for about 4 seconds. Video doesnt lie either. Dallas caught a break on the call but if that was going to be called then so should the hands to the face by pettigrew. I assume you wouldnt be campaigning to boycott the NFL if that happened . If the PI call stood and the hanging on the facemask to the point where the defender had to push his hand away didnt get called, would you be complaining for 12 straight hours then ? It is what it is. It was an important play but not the sole contributor to the Lions loss . So all of you guys that didnt make the playoffs can keep crying in your soup as we move on to G.B. My hats truly off to the Lions as they did play a terrific football game. Edited January 5, 2015 by whomper

My hats truly off to the Lions as they did play a terrific football game.   *  Just kidding. I'll give my $.02 and then here that I'm only saying that because I'm a Steelers fan (some of the more clever, may say The S-t-e-a-l-e-r-s).  Do I think PI against the Cowboys was the correct call ? Yes Do I think that an offsetting facemask penalty could have been called ? Yes Do I think Dez should have been called for coming on the field without his helmet ? Absolutely (much worse than the no PI call) Do I think Detroit would have gone on to score if PI or Dez is called ? I have no idea, and neither does anyone else Do I think there were other missed calls during the game against both teams ? Absolutely Do I think there are missed calls every single game and they usually even out ? Absolutely Do I think that teams need to quit whining about missed calls and overcome them to win ? Definitely Do I think whining about missed calls is weak, as no one knows what others were missed and how they would affect the game ? Yes  Bad or missed calls go against every team in every game. (Happens in every sport too). Good teams will overcome the calls and win. In the same year that many thought the Steelers were handed a Super Bowl, they had a call go against that that was MUCH worse and obvious than any in the Super Bowl (Polamalu's over-turned interception against the Colts, which the NFL apologized for getting wrong), and the Steelers overcame that bad call and won anyway. Do bad calls affect the game, yes, to what degree, we can't be sure. However, there is nothing you can do about them but overcome them as a team.  Dallas won the game, and in my opinion they deserved it. They made the plays down the stretch and Detroit did not.  I was rooting harder for Dallas than I ever had before yesterday. I will root for them throughout the playoffs. rajncajn
Agree with Menudo. I'm certain you can go through the entire game and find bad or missed calls that should have gone in favor of the Lions. Who knows if they would have affected the outcome? But the simple fact of the matter is Detroit had every opportunity to run away with that game, but it was obvious from the time that Dallas scored their first touchdown before the half that they were playing much harder & wanted it more. They were playing playoff football & Detroit was playing like it was just another game. I know that is cliche', but that's just what it was and as much as it pains me to say it I think we'll be seeing them face the Seahawks in the NFCC game. CaptainHook
I agree with Menudo (with the exception about calls "evening out", sometimes they do, sometimes they don't). Â I just cannot see defending the refs picking up that flag unless you are a blatant homer.
HowboutthemCowboys
I'll say this. I was more surprised that Det didn't go for it on 4th and 1 than I was any call or no call by the refs. Dallas d wasn't exactly the Steel Curtain of the 70s yesterday. Gutless call to punt the ball there

InTomWeTrust
What are you out of your mind?   Funny thing is though that the refs fixed the game to help the public side win.... it just goes to show you that TV Ratings mean more than what the Sportsbooks want/ need.  Detroit also should have played better defense toward the end of the 1st half. Poor tackling led to Dallas getting that first half TD.  Its funny Lions were only up 10 points at half but they totally dominated that 1st half. It really felt like it should have been a 28 point lead the way Dallas was getting blasted.     business is business. i ain't hatin', just feeling bad for fans. this is for entertainment purposes only. well that's what they write on those weekly cards   no doubt it was done to help Dallas. Guys posting well Detroit still had ball at end, or like Lb so stated earlier well where has that Star been last decade if Nfl needs it so bad. Dumb asses lol! Not like league can have absolute control on outcomes but certainly can influence it at times. And Dallas has sucked past decade and were not that relevant. Now that they are there is no doubt which side league was gonna bend for here ov a Detroit brand that has almost zero value for business.    Let's not forget the no call when Dez ran onto the field without his helmet on disputing the flag for pass interference right after the play. It's clear as day and should have been a 15 yard penalty. I'm more shocked at that no call than i am of the picking up the flag.   please check in on the FIX  the integrity of the game is when i stop getting romantic about football man...  Detroits in Shambles 1 mil dollar condos going for nothing in detroit because of crime etc...  Dallas is most popular nfl team in the world.. LMAO  way to throw that in there.. like that even matters when is that even said..   it was obvious detroit gets that call.. one REF didnt get the nod only the HEAD knows the fix is in.. thats why the flag gets pulled back and a series of defense penalties to allow dallas to score in the end...  please check in on the fix. Bobby Brown
Sorry, late to this thread . . . but are Cowboys fans actually claiming that the refs were right picking up that flag? I like Dilfer, but he's certainly not irrefutable by any means and for every Dilfer you can produce who agreed with picking up the flag you can also find just as many who think it was wrong to pick it up.
