Fred Jackson as Lynch Backup

Recommended Posts

I'm interested in opinions about picking up Fred Jackson to back up Marshawn Lynch. Is it worth dropping anyone on my roster to grab Jackson, while available on waivers, as a safety net?

I'm inclined to drop Garcon, Sproles, or Sankey if needed.

Current Roster:

QB Ryan

QB E Manning

RB Lynch

RB CJ Anderson

RB Morris

RB Ivory

RB Sankey

RB Sproles

WR D Jackson

WR A Robinson

WR Decker

WR Garcon

TE Walker

TE Allen

K Hauschka

D Rams

Weekly League Lineup:

2 RB/2 WR or 1 RB/3 WR or 3 RB/1 WR

Pretty standard scoring with performance bonuses, Non-keeper, 12 teams

What makes you interested in this when he isn't on a roster yet? I'm sure he will land somewhere soon, but I wouldn't do that until we know for sure when and where. But, I would drop either Sankey or Sproles. To be completely honest, I don't know that I would even worry about picking him with your roster.

If anything I'd just be looking to upgrade your WR corps.

With those RBs I find it hard to believe Sankey or Sproles every starts for you, in that sense dropping Sproles for Jackson would be a simple move. Just as a cuff for Lynch. Of course pending he actually does end up there.
