K Mack: where's he playing this year

It sounds like a trade is still a possibility, but I think he simply plays out this year in OAK and goes elsewhere next year.

As long as the Colts don't sign him; we don't have any front 7 needs on D plus we only have $50M left in cap space after that wild FA spree.

I dunno. All I know is the teams have been calling and the Raiders apparently want 2 1st round picks. On top of that, whoever gets him will have to pay him what he wants. I think he stays in Oakland as well but he'll be a holdout which will suck for his IDP League owners and Raider fans.

Tough call. Looks like they're pushing for 2 first round picks for him. That's a hefty price to pay

it is a hefty price...but not if you are in the top 1/3 of the league and expect to be there for the next few years......thats not a crazy deal for a team that thinks they are a "mack" away from being a superbowl contender.....you are basically giving one for the player....and the other to the team for the player...if one pick is in the 20s and the other one is in the mid to late 20's is it really a crazy price?

weve heard the packers are interested....you think giving out 2 late 20's first rounders is a hefty price for a team that expects to be playing for a superbowl?

Yes.  This isn't a franchise QB we're talking about, which IMO is the only thing to give away two #1s for.

The two 1st round picks is just Gruden (or someone in the Raiders organization) being an idiot to try and increase leverage so that Mack shows back up and plays. No one is giving 2 ones and then paying Mack's salary, as tazinib already said.

In general, NFL players have very little leverage in contract negotiations but they are probably less tolerant of the BS now after the kneeling controversy and, more importantly, the insane behavior of Goodell over the past few years.

For the Raiders this is an unforced error - lose-lose for really no apparent reason. I would speculate there's a bug up Gruden's arse about something but who knows what it is.

To answer the OP's question: I think he's playing in Oakland or nowhere this year.

if you are a team like denver for instance...would u rather have shane ray and paxton lynch or khalil mack? if you are green bay would you rather have d randall and kenny clark or mack(randall no longer with team)?

i realize the idea is to take these players with the belief they will pan out and become productive....but if they are in the bottom 1/3 of the round they arent neccessarily a lock to be solid...mack is a DPOY

of course, using this logic it would mean that Oakland should keep Mack for the exact reasons you lay out. They should pay the man and be done with it - they gave their coach "$100 million" and he literally hasn't done anything for over a decade.

they probably should.....but in the event that there is a rift that cant be repaired i dont think two late 1st rounders is too steep for a team picking in the bottom 1/3 of the first round thats a near SB contender

if you look at the 2014-2017 drafts....only 3 guys picked from 20-32 have made a pro bowl...and im fairly sure not a single one of them has made an all pro team....1 of them is a guy who is now a backup qb-bridgewater...the other two are jason verrett and ha ha clinton dix

Hey don't be dissing Kenny Clark bud. I've acquired him in every league this year (I believe I'll have to check) :boxing:

And the Bears just signed him to a huge extension.

Hint: Aaron Donald isn't the NFL's highest paid defensive guy anymore.

This trade and the big trade up in the 2017 draft to get Trubisky are clearly the make or break moves of the Ryan Pace regime.

Yes. He is officially on the clock.

The Bears D generated 100 QB hurries last year. Mack had 77.

This should make the Bears a Top 5 unit.
