Big Trade Advice

My Gurley, AJ Green, Jay Ajayi, and Kyle Rudolph for his Zeke, Michael Thomas, and Gronk. This is my 1st year playing fantasy football and after some back and forth we ended up with this trade. I really needed a TE1 and he really needed a RB2. Did I get hosed on this trade?

Could you guys elaborate a little bit on why it's such a bad trade? Obviously Gurley >>>> any of the other guys but are you guys really down on zeke and high on ajayi? If Rudolph was out of the equation would you still not trade 3 for 3? I understand buckemdown's point earlier about how it boils down to Gronk for Ajayi and Rudolph since Gurley and aj green for zeke and Thomas is pretty much a wash. Is there anything else that I'm missing?

JRA I look at it as a bad trade from all angles. You're trading Gurley, the best RB in fantasy right now, for Zeke, who is being forcused on by defenses as Dallas doesn't have any true WR weapons to keep defenses honest. I would also flat out take AJ Green over Michael Thomas (and that's coming from a Saints fan). AJ Green is always going to be a primary target for Andy Dalton while Drew Brees likes to spread the ball around. Sure Michael Thomas is the #1 receiver on the team but Kamara and Ginn take up a fair amount of catches as well. The amount of targets that Thomas gets will probably go down a little bit once Mark Ingram comes back from suspension and once Cameron Meredith gets on the same page as Brees.

So as another poster said, you are guaranteed to lose in 2 of the 3 transactions in that trade. The real question is whether Gronk is worth losingt Ajayi and Rudolph. You might be thin at TE and Gronk is definitely second best (I rank Kelce #1 at TE) but I think you're giving up too much for him. IMO you are losing at all 3 aspects of that trade. In the very least you are losing at 2 of the 3 aspects of the trade.

In general I don’t like trades where it’s my great wr, te , and rb for your great wr ,te, and rb.     I think for a good trade you need to fill needs.   Ex. My wr for your rb.   By great wr for your two up and coming wrs etc.  when you trade that many high level players at the same positions i feel like your asking the trade to come down to who’s gets hurt or lucky

Thanks for clarifying. I guess I was a little too high on Thomas and down on Green, Ajayi, and Rudolph. I knew I was losing on the Gurley Zeke exchange pretty badly but thought I would be up overall on the Thomas/Green and Gronk/Ajayi Rudolph exchange. I could totally see Thomas coming back down to earth with Ingram comin back soon as well.
