Give up a win this week to pick up Alex Collins?

Recommended Posts

10 team full PPR and someone dropped Alex Collins as they had no other option.

I am up by 25 points and my opponent has Kamara and Metcalf and I have Saints Def. I feel I don't have a chance of winning so I am thinking to drop Saints Def and pick up Alex Collins. Granted I cannot use him this week and I am giving up an outside chance of winning this week. I would hate to lose both Collins and a win this week, so I am trading one for the other.

But is Alex Collins worth it? Do you think he can be a consistent RB2 or Flex option that I can rely on?

Can't see your sig.  Nobody else to drop?

Collins won't be an rb2 when Carson comes back

I can only drop players who are on bye this week, which is Najee Harris, Josh Allen and Emanuel Sanders, none of them I am willing to drop. I had to drop Tony Pollard to pick up a TE as Waller was ruled out in the last minute. The only way to pick up Collins is to drop Saints or else in the waivers on Tuesday. If he ends up playing well tonight, my guess is he will be top pick up and I have to spend lot of FAAB. Carson is not eligible to return until week 10 and Pete Carrol says he does not have a firm timetable to return.

Well, as expected I lost convincingly. I knew I had no chance against Kamara with the kind of volume he gets. I just hope I don't lose the bid for Collins tomorrow, wish me luck!

I was going to say "how did you lose convincingly" then I noticed in the original post your opponent also had Metcalf.  I guess facing those 2 with limited defense scoring and 25 point lead wasn't enough. But I wouldn't have counted on both players having good games, in foul weather, with bad QBs. In fact there would be a decent chance the Saints D get some points off turnovers, maybe even a TD.

Yeah, I was more focused on Kamara because I was 200% sure he alone was enough to get my opponent the win, Metcalf was bonus for him and all he needed was one catch. Anyway, I think I did the right thing by going for the win and not giving up even though I was 200% sure I would lose, barring a miracle like injuries.

I am saying 200% because everything worked against me winning this week -  Waller injury in the last minute; picking up O.J Howard instead of Foster Moreau by dropping Pollard; Josh Jacobs injury before half-time just when he was about to have a monster game and Derrick Henry having a quite game.

Anyway, no regrets! I am now focused on week 8 and finding a replacement for Waller this week :-)

Thanks for the support everyone, this community is awesome!!
