Sorry while I respect your opinion this seems like a hot take.

Why wouldn't he play again this year? Since when do able bodied players sit out the rest of the season because their team stinks?

Nothing I've heard says his injury won't heal in time for him to play, nor have I heard that returning to play is adds risk for more injury. In fact word is the pin is coming out soon and he's on track to return week 10.

Sure some fans may clamor for him to sit and not risk injury in "meaningless games" but do you really expect him to agree to sit? For the team to sit their franchise QB and star player who draws fans?

And what do you mean by "Russ is finished there". Is he retiring, demanding a trade? He's got 2 years left on his contract, looks like SEA might have an out in 2022 if they're looking to cut ties.

Great take, Mr. grab.

Man what a snoozer that game was.  Seattle could have won this week and last, without Russ.  Now season is on life support.

Seriously.  I had no fantasy matchups that were nailbiters and this game was boring too.

Based on him being paid so handsomely, him playing makes sense, especially for the fans' sake/ ticket sales. However, I can see scenarios where the finger healing suffers a "setback".

When I say he's done, I believe he's done in Seattle and they, collectively, find a way to move on this offseason, as I know he wants out.

I'm interested on how you know that, as a Seattle homer, I'm not aware of anyone that knows that.    Don't get me wrong, he could certainly be  there and Seattle could be headed to a rebuild regardless.  But the trade demands were largely attributed to Wilson's agent in a successful attempt to give Wilson more input on the O-coordinator hire and the subsequent direction of the franchise.  At this point Pete Carroll might be the odd man out at the end of the year, not Wilson.

I was referring to all of the hub bub last off-season. Where there's smoke, there's fire. And I'm sure to save face it's a hell of a lot easier to pawn off trade requests on the agent than on Wilson. And it makes total sense that an agent would randomly request a trade on behalf of his client, without the client actually wanting such an event to happen.

Do you really think Wilson wants to be there?  I think he realized how crappy they'd be.

Seattle was 12 - 4 last year and let Russ cook. His agent listed 4 teams, 3 of them were incapable of making a deal due to salary cap situations.  The 4th team was Chicago.  John Clayton and other Seattle beat writers called it a bluff from the get go and maintained that stance until the story died.

As I mentioned above, this season could definitely be a turning point though.  I was just curious how you got in the 'know.'

Thanks for a Seahawks fans view, I really don't like when people claim that they "know" something when it is just their own opinion, not even something that the media following the team is talking about. In this case its based entirely on the last off season, and a story line that was as you say "debunked".

Wilson has a contract, if he wants out he still needs to be traded. Sure he could be gone, but doesn't seem to be much evidence of that now.
