Rumor/buzz: DK Metcalf to Green Bay??

Recommended Posts

So as we all know, Davante Adams - despite his buddy A-Rodg coming back - bolted for the Raiders.... leaving the cupboards all but barren in Green Bay in terms of pass catchers.

But after Seattle cleaned house, perhaps DK Metcalf could be headed to play in the green & gold?

Lots of chatter on radio about it, and here's a site that shows how it could work.....

Would definitely be a help for the pack but I see him as a number 2. He can get taken out of the game to often.

From an NFL perspective I was hoping the Saints would make a play for him, but from a FF perspective I hope this is true.

Makes perfect sense for GB but is Seattle ready to go full nuclear?

Couldn't see why not.  Trading Russ pretty much means going full nuclear already.  They're not winning that division.

I guess but Trading Metcalf would almost be giving up on the future as well. He's still very young at 24. If they plan on being in on the QB sweepstakes next season they should probably keep him, trade Lockett

It would not shock me if the Chiefs trade for him.

He hates KC and said he'd never go there, not sure it's up to him though.

Marques Valdes-Scantling signed with the Chiefs.

Packers really need to make a move.

DeVante Parker?

I can’t recall him ever saying that. Do you have a link?

(And I already know about the too cold tweet).

Devante Parker to the Patriots. NE - the place that WRs, not named Randy Moss, go to be run-of-the-mill. Dolphins sent him to a division foe... kinda tells you up front what they think of him if they don't mind 'revenge' games twice a year.

Getting me concerned why Packers GM Gutekunst is just sitting on his hands.

I'd be shocked if they don't take a WR with their first pick. They'll be some good ones there when they pick.

1 in the first and 1 in the second

Not much in the free agent market to make a difference at the cost.

Dolphins also sent a 5th rounder.

Parker + 5th for a 3rd.

And the Cowboys got just a fifth rounder back for Amari Cooper.

Teams knew the Cowboys were not keeping him because of his contract.

Yep Cowboys had decided he was not worth what he was costing and were going to let him go for a bargain.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/03/28/jerry-jones-on-amari-cooper-trade-we-made-a-decision-that-that-allocation-should-be-better-spent/

"The Cowboys didn’t feel Cooper’s use was worth his $20 million salary for 2022. In 2021, Cooper had the highest base salary and highest cap number at his position in the league. Yet, he ranked tied for 39th in receptions, 34th in receiving yards and tied for 37th in points among non-kickers."
