Otits
This year picked up Ja’Marr Chase with the #7 pick, so decided to stack him with Burrow. I’m in a standard league 6pts each TD and we have 6 bonus pts. For 40 plus yard TDs. My question is, is it smart to stack J. Chase & Burrow together because if Burrow has horrible games then it’s going to affect Chase as well and it’s a double effect. I also drafted Dak with my 2nd to last pick just in case my stack isn’t working out as planned. What are your opinions on my stack?? Thanks in advance!! kle
It's a good stack in a good offense. Especially with the 40+yd TD bonus and their deep ball chemistry. You should be fine to trot them out most games.
Big Country
Stacks are neither something to target, nor to avoid in weekly managed leagues. In best ball (and DFS), there are some potential advantages to stacks and correlation plays. If Chase was the top player on your board when you chose to draft him, then you did the right thing. If Burrow was your top player on the board when you chose to draft him, then you did the right thing. If Prescott was your top player on the board when you chose to draft him, then you did the right thing. During the season, when comparing Burrow and Dak, you start the one you think will score more that week. Your other players and your opponent's lineup have no bearing on that decision. During the season, when evaluating what WRs to start, if Chase is one of your top one's, you start him. our other players and your opponent's lineup have no bearing on that decision. It really is as simple as that.

I resisted trading him away in case something happened to Herbert. Until he offered me Joe Mixon. Uh, yes please. So now he has Burrow/Chase. But I don't see how one rationalizes giving up a top 10 RB for a QB.
Otits
Yeah idk about all that cuz I didn’t and wouldn’t go to that length to get burrow lol I drafted burrow with my 10th pick so I don’t think I reached for him… he just happened to fall in my lap and I already had Chase so I’m trying out stacking them. The only time (again, non best ball/DFS) that it makes sense to target stacks and put extra value on it is if your league has very unique rules giving bonuses for having both the QB and WR in a passing TD situation. It's a rule I've never seen actually implemented, but in theory that kind of rule makes a stack potentially more valuable.

And that's perfectly fine. Chase at the 7 pick in most leagues is a great pick. Burrow in the 10th round, likely in the QB 7-10 range, is a great pick and not a reach.
